Can't see in that pic.. but what happens to the viaduct that aparently runs behind the street?

Not sure, I think I can make it out, I think it's just meant to be an 'arch' like it says on Corrie Nation lol

question about the viaduct, I Sure back in the 70's and 80;s you could drive straight though it, I wonder why there closed it up

Because the new studio complex was built directly behind the viaduct, so there would be no where to drive to any more.

Yes you used to be able to drive through it into Jubilee Terrace but they decided to close it up in the late 1980s I think - Jim McDonald opened a bike shop in the viaduct, that was the first business that was there.

Increasing speculation on that other well respected TV forum (Digital Spy) that is not going to survive this Sad

It's not really a spoilers as nobody knows, but I just can't get past the fact that she went on the Paul O'Grady Show a few weeks ago and is also on this Big 50 show on Friday.

No TV appearances ever (pretty much), to two in a few months may mean Barbara is bowing out Crying or Very sad

I really hope the death isn't Rita. Although it would be nice to see a big, long standing character bow out I'd hope it wouldn't be Rita - I really enjoy her scenes. I reckon it's a red herring anyway.

I thought perhaps the fourth death could be baby Stape but i'm sure Digital Spy reported months ago that in the aftermath the only thing that keeps the residents going is the newborn baby or something along those lines.

I did think today that maybe why she was on the Paul O'Grady show as like a last interview before the end, hope it is not her though.

Coronation Street used to be broadcast live across Granada, ATV and other pre-ITV stations, so the first-ever episode transmitted last night on ITV1 was a recording of the live original broadcast.

No I mean the actually first ever one, but the first one on monday night, was it live or not? because as I said before this morning said it was.

Live episode is on Thursday

Yes I know the live ep is on thursday but:
at 7:10 she talks about how much they had to learn because it was live!!!! http://thismorning.itv.com/thismorning/showbiz/coronation-street-1970s

Another great episode tonight! I am loving the ITV News reports on the website, on tonights they have even offered a hotline number to ring up. Adds a greater sense of realism to the story for me

The news reports could be so much better. There are just a few little things that don't seem real. Why did the reporter refer to 'the Rovers'? She should have just called it 'a pub'. Why could we see the reporter just standing there looking board when she threw back to the studio?

The reporter is a bit poor to be honest. Alistair Stewart is very realistic though (I wonder if he is a fan?!)

She's referring to Episode One (from 1960) if you listen in context. It is confusing the way she says 'did you see the first episode last night?' but she means 'episode one' not 'the first of last night's two episodes'.
