Apparently the tram is out of service, with only the driver on board.
It all starts tomorrow evening... very exciting stuff! Also looking forward to the anniversary programmes on Tuesday/Thursday/Friday as well, I hope they show a good variety of clips instead of focusing too much on one decade.
This question must have been answered above, but are there any passengers on the tram when it crashes?

Nothings been said about that yet. Judging by the preview snippets we've seen so far in pics and clips, there's been
no mention of any passenger casualties or fatalities on board the tram itself. None of the previews have yet shown
inside the LRV, except a very brief shot of it speeding towards the camera with it's horn blaring.
Chances are, the tram is probably just on it's way back to the depot in Cheetham Hill with a "Sorry Not In Service"
message on its destination board, and the only fatality on-board is the driver. Unless they've hired about 20-30
extras to act as dead or badly injured passengers making their way home from work.
Mind you, since the crashed tram used on set is a scale replica, and not a real LRV, it's most likely to be empty.

Do we reckon then the driver could be one of the four deaths?
If that's the case I'd bet are the other three.

You could well be right - and if that's the case, only two regulars lose their life in the tragedy.

I'm just thinking if I were trying to promote such a big week I'd rather say 4 deaths rather than 3, even if one of them is technically the driver. If there are 4 regulars dying, if I were marketing it I'd say there were five deaths if you get me - sounds more dramatic.
We wouldn't really see the funeral of the driver though, or be remotedly interested in it. I definitely think there's four deaths that affect the street, otherwise it's just a cop out.

Yes good idea - marketing it as Five Funerals and a Wedding - a clever play on words of that famous film Five Weddings and a Funeral . . .
Hmm

Off on a tangent; been chatting with Julian at UTV via the @UTVonAir Twitter account; he's confirmed he's not on duty from Monday to Wednesday, and it doesn't sound like anything extraordinary like pre-records are in store.
Just asked Mr S if he'll be in a tux on Thursday night... waiting for a response.

So you're saying they planned this WHOLE storyline and strategically planned the number of deaths just so they could make one little promo with a play on words? Somehow, I doubt it...
If anything they would probably make the fourth death the tram driver in order to boost it from 3 to make the pun work...

I agree it would be a huge cop out of one of the four deaths turned out to be the tram driver. They did make a big deal about the tram driver being cast tho - I remember reading an article about it, so you never know. I hope we will get a huge surprise death this week, someone we are not expecting. Otherwise I think it could be very disappointing as we have a very good idea of who 3 of the 4 deaths will be.
Im looking forward to seeing the very first episode of Corrie tomorrow at 8pm (even tho ive seen it many times before its great to see how it began), plus the specials we have on Tues/Thurs/Friday.
