This has been sent out from the ITV Press Office to a number of newspapers in Manchester and surrounding area. This version has been provided for Metro Manchester who are running a special "Coronation Street" edition the week of the tram crash...

Also, glad to see Blanche Hunt was voted the favourite character in Corrie in an Inside Soap poll:

I know we've read a similar thing before ages ago, but it just made me think ? But it's made an extra point about the opening credits.
Does anyone think there'll be different (special) titles next week? Even if it's essentially the opening credits going into the scene. As I know it's blurred and borded up, but the joinery is shown and will seem a bit strange if it's all blown up after Monday. Plus all the episodes are set of a night whereas the titles are daytime. Also, if there are different titles, I wonder if whether or not there'll be used into the future.

CORRIE fans will see beyond Weatherfield for the first time when Monday's episode shows streets behind the tram viaduct.
The computer-generated opening credits will be followed later in the week by a new view of the world at the other end of the Street.
Producer Phil Collinson said: "Viewers will be able to spot all sorts of landmarks."

how can we see beyond the viaduct when we can already see that there's a building behind it
and would an entire tram service be completely suspeneded indefinatly due to the collaps of a viaduct arch
maybe they will start having the beacham tower in the shots as it's probably a real pain not to

They'll more than likely use CGI to digitally replace it with a shot of some random street or streets in Salford.

It wouldn't shutdown the entire tram service. The affected line would be closed until repairs are completed.
Like it says on the mock poster, there'd be a replacement bus service running until at least next January.
The real Metrolink closed entire lines for months not too long ago to replace old worn out ex-BR tracks.

Again, they'll probably use CGI if necessary to digitally remove it. It's called Beatham Tower BTW.

Here's a really interesting interview

I just saw someone post this on the Corrie Facebook

The ITV1 logo is all yellow, I wonder if that means special idents (like they did for IAC)
