It was mentioned on This Morning today that the snowfall is affecting filming of the soaps, and Emmerdale filming has been suspended altogether at the moment. How will this affect Corrie's live episode? Apart from the technical aspects, there will be continuity issues. It'll be interesting to see how they handle it if heavy snow falls in Manchester before or during the live broadcast.

As long as it is not snowing at the time of broadcast it shouldn't be too difficult to clear if they have enough people/shovels available. An EastEnders episode earlier this year had a scene where you could see snow piled up in the background. They did quite well, if it wasn't for that one scene where you could see it in the background you wouldn't have known it was being filmed just after a snow fall.

What caused the initial fires on the viaduct? Where was the ignition source? Surely the trams don't carry petrol.

Not that much, it's clearly a consistent source of ignition such as a petrol or gas stream.

They don't, they're all electric. The flames on the viaduct are most likely from the blast inside The Joinery
