Even for the Daily Star that's a ridiculous article. Just trawl Digital Spy get a couple of negative quotes and turn them into a story. Really lazy.

Another dig by Desmond. If only he would concentrate on what his channel has to offer instead of having a dig at Corrie

That is surely one of the only adverts for corrie that don't involve the Platts! Shocked Might we be moving away from them controlling every storyline?!

I'm hoping David "Damien" Platt is one of the tram crash fatalities. I'm sick of that nasty pathetic smug little scrote!

Another asked: “Why do they have to copy the 1967 storyline? How tired is that.”

... asks someone born in 1985.

ITV have announced lots of extra programming for the 50th birthday

http://www.itv.com/presscentre/presspacks/corrie50thanniversary/default.html

"Coronation Street: The Big 50" - A live entertainment show hosted by Paul O'Grady

"Coronation Street: 50 Years 50 Moments" - A look back at 50 classic scenes narrated by Victoria Wood

"Coronation Street: Uncovered Live" - On ITV2 hosted by Stephen Mulhern (a bit weak compared to the other 2 hosts, I doubt Mulhern even watches Corrie!)

Plus lots of exclusive content on itv.com

last one sounds exactly the same as what they showed on BBC3 after the live eastenders, interesting if you like behind the scenes stuff though Very Happy

Yeah reading through there'll be "the making of the tram crash" scenes.

I imagine they'll focus on Coronation Street in this one.
