Me too, although I'm trying to come to terms with cancer in the family at the mo.
I'll wait til I'm on my own to watch this, I think.

This may sound extremely wimpy... but I've got a tear in my eye looking at those photos.
And it's certainly
not
like me to shed tears over a TV programme. If looking at publicity stills has made me sad, God knows what I'm going to be like actually watching tonight's episodes...!

I know - It's the end of an era really - I expect it to get high ratings tonight like Vera's did n 2008.
No doubt it will be ITV News's "and finally " story tonight!

I have to admit - I did get a bit teary eyed tonight.
A fitting goodbye! And Vera being their was a nice touch! I wasn't sure if the Vera bit would be done that tastefully i.e a bit silly. But it was touching and honestly great! Nice that it was Jack singing the song being played in the background too!. I thought the view through the house onto the street was good too. Would have been nice to end there really. But I suppose your got to have Tyrone come in etc.

Yeah cold have done with being slighlty longer. they should have had a longer dance, done the nice through the house onto the street shot, with Tyrone etc walking along and then the final scene.
Nice to have uninterupted credits too. I know it's only a little thing. But it's nice on special occasions like this.
The scene with Jack and Vera was lovely, it just wasn't long enough, a nice send off indeed.

Really sad and emotional - but beautiful. Truly great scenes that deserved to dominate the episode, rather than being interrupted with the other storylines. They could've let Jack have the whole of part two - just this once. But still, it was done perfectly (loved the camera revolving around Jack in the middle of the Street at the end of part one). The Vera scene surpassed my expectations, too - it was tasteful without being tacky. All in all a lovely farewell!
I agree - it makes all the difference for special episodes. Glad there was no announcer ruining the mood!

It's also telling to see how much they've both aged since their 80s heyday. A lovely little scene spelling the end of an era.
it was a lovely episode tonight with Emily, Rita, Betty and the others with Jack in the Rovers and also lovely to see Jack and Vera reunited!
