When I first saw your username on the TV Forum homepage I assumed it was a reference to the former Director-General of the BBC.

There is a presumption that everyone watches films and sport.

There is more to UK TV than films and sport. Both are tedious and boring.

Therefore an option:-
"None of the above" is a fair and representative answer TO EVERY question.

Any survey (or whatever it's called) MUST include an option for the responder to 'opt-out' of that particular question.

To say an answer is "Mandatory" immediately results in an unrepresentative answer for the responder to attempt to 'be fair' with other questions.

I failed to see the point of Q2. It's is obviously not a definitive list of ALL television programmes EVER and is mostly made up of US drama series, plus an option of Other which people are either not going to bother with, or will fill with many weird and wonderful programmes you've probably never heard of. Far better would be a question along the lines of what TYPES of programmes do you watch (Soaps, Drama, Sport, Films, Quiz shows) etc but even then you don't cover programmes that don't fit these catagories or are a cross between two or more. But I stil fail to see what the point of such a question would be, if the survey is primarily about HOW people watch television programmes.

Wouldn't it be easier just to make up the results of a survey rather than doing a real one? Presumably the purpose of this exercise is not actually to 'predict how we will watch films and TV shows in 5-10 years time' but to help you pass your mock GCSEs or whatever it is you are doing? This will be much easier if you make up results that agree with whatever conclusion you want to arrive at (i.e. that we will all be watching The One Show via Netflix in 5-10 years time judging by your leading questions) rather than hoping that a bunch of nut jobs on an internet forum come up with the right answers especially when we are clearly more interested in picking apart your questions than answering them.

BTW, consume? media? content? Do you mean watching telly?

I completed your survey. I look forward to seeing the results.

The survey did make me realise that these days I probably watch less than an hour a day on average. There certainly aren't any new series or shows that I follow any more - less than that if you don't include news.

I'll certainly watch a red dwarf, Blackadder, one foot in the grave, father ted etc etc if it is on, but nothing new much takes my fancy anymore. There do not seem to be any great sitcoms on now, unless I'm missing something. Friday Night Dinner was pretty good, probably the last sitcom I enjoyed.
