The equipment you require Bail is a Scan Convertor. I have this one:

http://www.extron.com/product/product.asp?id=vsc200

You can zoom in on certain areas of the image with virtually no loss of quality, even freeze frame at the touch of a button. This machine can output in NTSC or PAL format, and there are various 'filters' you can choose from to get an amazingly clear picture. Even tiny text shows up. If you are watching, for example, the 90 second countdown in full-screen mode, it looks a brilliant on the tv. Without going into technobabble, the image from the pc (or in my case laptop) is enlarged inside the convertor and then shrunk back to a 625 line tv picture. This means that you dont get single pixel loss as you do by connecting your pc tv-out port directly to your vcr.

If anyone fancies a sample, post me a tape and I can video tape any clips you care to email me with.

PS: If you want to buy one of these, let me know as its the industry I work in.
