. . . I can't really think of any dramas which have switched channels after being axed by another.

I can. Neighbours ... ditched by Australia's Channel 7 in 1985, and subsequently brought back by Network Ten.

so ch7 only had it for a few months then?

Channel 7 had it for its first season - March 1985 - November/December 1985. Channel 10 had it from season 2 onward.

So they should just give up you're saying? Just because ITbloodyV got rid?

No, they should give up because it's ****! Bad Girls has had a pretty decent innings and has more than reached it's natural lifespan!

Pretty decent innings? Taking the words out of the Producer's mouth eh? Wink

I never watched it myself so therefore can't judge but it can't be that crap if it was so popular.

I never watched it either - and I never said it was crap! Cue a Quizmania style "find the word" game - though this one is pretty obvious!

Quality and popularity don't go hand in hand - EastEnders is enough proof of that!

I thought Brekkie pulled all the strings though? Have I got it all wrong?

I liked this series, but I agree it has gone downhill from it's early days. Sad

Bad Girls DIDN'T have to go downhill, this was inevitable after ITV plc ordered major changes for the last series because of - surprise surprise - a ratings panic. Predictably, these changes didn't have the desired effect so now they can get rid. Sad to see it go, but better to call a halt now.

Perhaps ITV were trying to do a Crossroads, that is, manufacture an excuse to axe it (namely sacking Nolly so people would lose interest). No point whatsoever in that, not to mention it backfired with Crossroads!

Bad Girls may be gone, but it leaves numerous possibilities for spin-offs, perhaps more comedy than drama. They could do something with the Julies after their release or maybe even Bodybag when she retires from the prison service and takes a job as a warden in sheltered housing(!)
