Concorde's last flight....ever!

I doubt they'd have had that authority - this is what happens when you turn the ITV network into one big channel called ITV1. If it was still HTV West which covered Bristol and not ITV1 with West of England opt outs then I'm sure they would have covered it.

did anyone catch the BBC1 ident before the points west at 6.30. It was the acrobats on the roof ident, but with concode in the sky above them. I couldn't capture it in time.

So the BBC are wasting even more of our money on regional idents!

First BBC Wales with their Wales football idents and now BBC West acquiring a Concorde ident! If I lived in another region I would complain that your license fee is subsidising new idents in other regions and demand your own regional idents!

PS and the moral of the story is that the BBC wasted all their money on the ident and after a few minutes the BBC West feed was replaced with the BBC LDN news programme!

Its hardly a new ident. All it was was a image of Concorde put in the top right hand corner: (Low quality but you get the picture)

Awww, seeing as it's you Owan, I'll prove you wrong. It probably took 3 minutes to make [at no extra cost other than that person's salary I should imagine]. The roof chaps are ducking out of the way though.

Anyway, I thought you were told the BBC Wales ones didn't cost much?

I found Points West's main programme to be much better than HTV's tonight, though I secretly admired Jenny Hull's blatant criticisms of practically everything on board Concorde when she went for a wander.

Points West's titles were just montages of the plane in flight to the normal theme, and a special dog on-screen throughout. Also, proving you wrong again, Points West were showing off their two RTS trophes they won yesterday -- although it can't be difficult to beat HTV News, they did it anyway.

That grab makes the 'ident' look really cheap and nasty. Was it as bad as it appears there?

Yes it was -- but once again, Owan, you are impossible to satisfy. You complain initially that it cost too much money [without having seen it], then you complain it's cheap and nasty.

You do this with every argument you have about the BBC..

For those of us who don't live in the west could someone please upload a video of the ident and titles featuring Concorde.

NWT used to do a similar thing with their weather when Dianne used to record the Lunchtime forecast (between Heather leaving and Nicola arriving). Gordon always used to look across the studio and Dianne always looked back at the end. I think their major downfall was when Stuart presented instead of Gordon but Dianne handed back to Gordon, oops.

How come Points West always seem to use the Capoeira ident? And where have the Acrobats gone?? The Acrobats ident has disappeared on alot of Regions! Does anyone know why??

Points West Concorde Titles 26-11-03

No ident, this is from the lunchtime Points West. I would have taped the later ones, but had no tapes left. DAMN!

Anyway, it's my birthday today, and it was great to see Concorde comming in to land from my front garden. The weather was crap, so I didn't do the 20 min walk from my house to Filton airfield with my parents, but they told me there were 1000s out there and Little Stoke roundabout (5 mins walk from the airfield) was chocker full of cars parked up for the event.

They use Tai Chi and (I think) Skateboard quite a bit too.

By all accounts, they didn't. Lunchtime HTV were off-air before it landed. There were a few problems at 3.25, but 18.30 smashed the pants off our ice cream selling friends.
