Absolute cockup with the way ITV NC handled the landing in Edinburgh. Whilst News 24 and Sky News kept going past the top of the hour, ITV went to a break minutes before it was supposed to land. When the break finished, they could have caught the final few seconds of the landing, but instead went into a normal headlines sequence and now isn't bothering to cover it at all.

And that's after spending virtually all morning covering it (and being the only channel to actually run a countdown until it all ends, aswell as using a concorde icon on their news ticker).

Having missed the event, the ITVNC are now playing catch up - News 24 and Sky News have both moved to New York where it's about to leave, whilst ITV are still in Edinburgh having just missed the main event.

Sky and the BBC are covering this final day amazingly. I'm off school ill at the moment and watched one of Concorde's final take offs thing morning from Heathrow. A few minutes later I heard a rumble outside and saw it's sleekness gliding eloquently across the sky. By the time I got my camera, it was reduced to a pinprick. But still, here's the photo. I assure you it's not a leaf, lol.

It's quite weird to think that the Concorde I'm watching currently taxiing off the airport in Edinburgh was flying over my house an hour or two ago. I just hope Virgin can get them airborne again. As Lord Wellington said in a thread in The Lounge, we shall be seeing Concorde on the odd fly pass here and there. It's just a shame that such a piece of fantastic engineering with still, 40 years after it was made still looks beautifully elegant.

Finally, someone has realised that a split screen between New York and Edinburgh is a good idea - well done Sky News. Should've happened 5 minutes ago however.

But who here has actually flown on it? That's if you don't count rich toffs who usually indulge in caviar and quails eggs.

And its being hosted by Nicholas Owen in the studio and Felicity Barr at Heathrow. There's lots of banter as you'd expect!

Loving the BBC interview with the Duke of Edinburgh...

Nicholas Witchell: "What made Concorde such a special aircraft"
Dukey: "Well there was nothing special about it really, it just made the journey quicker. There was nothing to look at, all you could see was sky"

Witchell: "Of course, Concorde memorably flew past Buckingham Palace as part of the Jubilee celebrations. What are your memories of that?"
Duke: "Concorde flying past. What else could I remember?"

Witchell: "Your Highness, thank you very much"

oh it was a fab interview.

I'll have to watch the whole thing - dad taped it.

Was that the Sept 11 theme at the end by the way? The saddest theme of them all...

Top marks to ITN for getting Nick and Felicity together to narrate. "That looks like Mary Nightingale's handbag! You'd need a posse for that..." Very Happy
Shame they've not got any closeup cameras though - the BBC have got that and reporters on the ground chatting to the passengers along with the great helicopter cam!
