i really enjoyed elton's rendition of CITW yesterday - still quite moving to hear him perform it live. i thought he said that he wasn't going to perform it but i think the crowd were happy that he did!

I'm hoping this is some form of sarcasm or you have been having very strange illucinations. Elton didn't perform Candle in the Wind last night.

Very interesting - I've watched Channel 9's coverage (I'm in Australia) of the concert & they had the BBC presenters doing a introduction for viewers around the world, then the concert, but it was a shame that there was so many problems on the day/night (microphones/scripts etc)

And about all the jokes of Australian's having a late breakfast - FOX8 is on Foxtel meaning:
1) There's two versions of FOX8 - the normal one & another one which shows all programs two hours after their starting time (FOX8 +2,) so FOX8 +2 also had the concert from 3am - 8am AEST - so some of us caught a bit of it!
2) Our breakfast programs had live reporters & pictures from the concert!

Im certain that he performed it - ill have a look back at my recording of the whole days events to prove it! I thought it was strange because he said he would never perform that song again - especially at a concert and especially one like that!

He never performed it, there was talk of him singing it - weather he would or not, but he never did.

Candle In The Wind was not performed, apparently down to the Princes who wanted the event to be upbeat and a happy occasion - celebrating her life.
