As usual Elton seems to be giving a fantastic performance. One of the best true performers left in the world.

Just looking at Wembley - they could do Eurovision one year if we won it! Razz

If this over runs too much Australia will be having a late breakfast.

Highlights are being shown on Nine in the evening as far as I can make out.

Ricky Gervais did pretty much the same routine as he did at Live 8. Supposedly he was 'filling' then as well - although realistically he wasn't actually on for any longer than you'd expect him to be, so I have my doubts...

Just wondering... when would the helicopter have refuelled, or is there a heliport where they could have done it very close to Wembley? I assume (based on various sources on the web) the flying time is 3-4 hours max...

Normally a max of about 3 hours with all the camera gear onboard (and thats after you've stripped everything off the helicopter (no padded seats for example). There are several airports around wembley, and it's more than possible to land a helicopter in the car park and refuel there.

The BBC have botched-up the overrun on the EPG, this seems to be pretty hit-and-miss.

I believe Elton was going to sing 'Saturday Night's Alright ' at her funeral until someone pointed out the unfortunate connection Laughing

I reckon Elton didn't want to perform Candle in the Wind tonight. Hence the delay in him appearing.

I thought he was definitely doing it? That's what your earlier post indicated?

They might have used RAF Northolt as that's only just down the A40.

Well that was a surprise, no "Candle In The Wind" after all that. I did hear that the Princes did ask Elton to sing it, but maybe they changed their minds.

I always recall him saying that he would never sing the "Candle In The Wind" song again live after her funeral.
