Picture this, A channel that buys old tv shows (including those that havn't been shown for years) then issues them with a daily slot. then (this is the really clever bit) shows episode 1 then episode 2 then 3 and so on.. in the CORRECT order including xmas and other 'specials' in the right places until then get to the very last episode.. then buy another show to put in the slot...

Just a thought
It's a very good idea, but I can't see it happening.
With all due respect, what you're asking for is a channel that repeats all of YOUR favourite shows. I'd love one too, but they could never please everyone!
So what classic shows (that never get repeated anywhere else) would you like to see on this channel?
Well no not neccasary everything
I
like, Im talking more showing shows in perfect running order.. when networks now just mess around looping 1 series/season and missing episodes out etc
That really annoys me
But this channel could show old episodes of going live on saturday morning, repeats of Art Attack, stay tunned, Nevermind the buzzcocks (go right back to the start and again show them in order and don't out miss the xmas speicals)
You know what might happen eventually . . . individual programs may end up having their very own dedicated channels.
Imagine new 24/7 digital stations such as "KnightRider.tv", "Holby Television" or "The Corrie Channel" . . . ! Although,
this might sound like a rather far fetched, and somewhat ludicrous idea, and we might not even relish the thought of
such channels actually being introduced, but once all the analogue TV services have been switched off in
favour of digital television services, I can imagine that it's very likely to happen!
In fact, we almost got a taste of this a few months ago, when a channel called "Bonanza TV" appeared on the Sky EPG,
with nothing but re-run episodes of the old TV show "Bonanza", with occasional episodes of the "Beverly Hillbillies" !
That channel is known (AFAIK) called Majestic TV, and has a slightly wider range (albeit still rather limited) of programs.
(Ooh look . . . this is my 1000th post! Not that having a high post count matters to anyone though . . . !)

I remember reading a few years ago that they were going to launch a Jerry Springer Channel on Sky Digital, when the show was at it's peak.
Though I can't see any other channels like this, I can see the launch of more Themed channels, such as 'The Horror Channel' or 'The Wrestling Channel'
Video on Demand has launched on NTL and Telewest now, though it's at a very early stage, as time is progressing I can see more archive material being available, as the BBC are offering some programmes available on it. Though at the moment you either have to be in Glasgow (NTL) or Bristol (TW) to get it.
I'd like to see a family of channels showing programmes from a decade each since the 60's (doubt there's enough archive material from the 50's..?) including lots of stuff that hasn't been shown for ages (there's even a lot of great 90's comedies which haven't been repeated) and maybe even News at Ten.
The pres could be themed on presentation of the era - so lots of 3D graphics on the 80's channel etc.
UK Gold doesn't serve it's purpose any more. BBC Four's much better at showing genuine 'gold' TV but it tends to be one-off episodes that they show.
