Unrelated to the closing ceremony, but this week's BBC Click programme has gone behind the scenes of the camera technology used at the Commonwealth Games with the BBC R&D team.

Here's the link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b04c2tjq/click-02082014

To be fair, good direction can go unnoticed and seem natural, bad is much more obvious and distracting. Thumbs up to the lighting director though, some nice stuff there.

I don't suppose BBC News are planning on bringing out the Olympic closing music again are they?

Is there a list of international broadcasters for the games?

Glasgow 2014 have a list. However, it appears to be incomplete with many as TBA and many countries seemingly not showing the games at all. It also shows TV, Radio & Online coverage.

The interest in the Commonwealth Games outside the Commonwealth itself is tiny. Here in Slovenia, for example, TV sportscasts tend to be fairly international-mined (Slovenia's is a very small country, after all), but I haven't seen any reports about the Commonwealth Games at all. In fact, I wouldn't even know that the games are currently underway if I didn't visit this forum.

Therefore, I don't think the list above is incomplete (except for some of the "TBA" countries) -- it's just that the event's appeal is largely limited to the participating Commonwealth countries.

That is indeed right couldn't find any coverage on European channels, if they had heard about it, their only place to watch it would have been on YouTube.

I have to say this does show how good Hazel irvine, is at presenting. Its a shame she was never on duty to do, at the games.

Closing could have been better, not because of the camera work etc, more to do it did not fell like a night out in Glasgow,

No special close unfortunately, just a hand over to regions from Clive in Glasgow

I completely disagree, I can't stand Hazel Irvine's style.

Don't worry I think she'll be deported once Scotland goes independent.

Think she will choose to leave, like a lot of people I know.

Also, the Aussie stuff blew us out of the water - I thought the direction was very good there. Perhaps Global taking over for that bit of the show? (Or perhaps I'm reading too much into it...)

I think that bit was just well prepared, and had a pretty simple shooting script.

I liked it, it was the highlight for me, I was on the verge of switching off before it appaered.

The screens were very cleverly done. I'd be interested to find out the engineering behind them, presumably
the images were streamed via a wi-fi link, but to keep a 32 inch screen alive for 15-20 mins, must have required quite a lot of batteries attached to each screen ? Very heavy assembly to be dancing about with for that period of time !
