It makes the decision to give the London 2012 ceremonies to Done and Dusted even better, doesn't it?! Remember that Hamish Hamilton spent months with the creative teams of the opening and closing ceremonies so that the television direction was developed at the same time as the stadium show. This just looks like some cameras have turned up with a director who has never even spoken to the stage director, let alone seen a script.
Would it be a S&V staffer doing this or somebody freelance?
Also, the Aussie stuff blew us out of the water - I thought the direction was very good there. Perhaps Global taking over for that bit of the show? (Or perhaps I'm reading too much into it...)

I think that bit was just well prepared, and had a pretty simple shooting script.
I'd guess it's the same team who did the athletics coverage, and simply haven't had a chance to rehearse the show properly.
It's quite impressive how they're making the pretty packed infield look empty by constantly cutting to the dancers.
