I know we are only 11 days into 2006 but already an ad on TV has p***ed me off.

SHEILA'S WHEELS.

For the love of god WHY??????

I thought that the first one was bad enough but this new one is just highly annoying, sadly we've probably got another 6 months at least to put up with it Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Surely I'm not the only one that finds this ad annoying, especially when the "bloke" screams higher that the women.

On a better note, if it hasn't been mentioned here before, apparently Darren Gough is going to replace Peter Kay in the John Smith's ads, hope he can match up to the Peter Kay ones.

Anyone like to nominate any others throughout the year feel free to do so.

Annoying ad yes - but not as annoying as what it's advertising! Imagine the outcry if there was an commercial advertising good deals on car insurance - and then said you weren't eligible if you were a woman!

Sheila Wheels and Diamond Insurance - are both very sexist advertisments. As previously stated what would women say if the ads were the other way round - cheap deals for men, but women were not allowed a sniff!!!!!!!!

Are these ads breaking the laws on equality - can anyone explain if they are not?????

No. Insurers have discretion over who they underwrite, and for whatever reason.

They are not obliged to offer any of their services to anyone, so they can therefore announce their women-only policy in their commercials.

I like Sheila's Wheels. Its tacky, yet tuneful; and I'm not the first to have been caught singing along I'm sure.

One incredible thing, considering how they bleat about "women make the safest drivers" etc in the advert, spot the number of driving errors actually made in it. They'll never get ANY insurance if they keep driving like that.

If it's the Privilege ad with Yvonne from Shameless, that's a good ad...

The DFS advert.........usually the one which wrecks my Christmas by annoying me.

I see trees pink,
fluffy clouds green,
oceans red,
meadows blue,
and I think to myself,
what a confusing world! Smile

I think whoever hired Robert Webb from The Smoking Room to voice an advert for Nicquitin was clearly having a laugh.
