Why is it that Katherine loathes Big Brother, I'm A Celeb, Pop Idol and the whole concept of "reality tv", yet when it comes to the BBC having a go, she starts a thread about it.
Surely not further evidence of hypocrisy to add to the now, very long list ?

Is it true that whoever's evicted has to go to Leeds to be a weatherman for ITV Playout North?

Um, because there's a 'learning element' in it, with the lessons being available via an interactive facility of the 'press red' variety?

Learning element, my arse. It's trashy light weight entertainment, with the focus firmly on celebrity. Now, I don't have a problem with that, but it's a genre that you have previously expressed your particular loathing towards. So please don't now attempt to dress it up into something it is not simply because you've been caught out.
These "celebs" (and I say that in the loosest sense here) are not going to adopt a career in music. It has no public service remit, other than generating revenue for yet another BBC charity telethon and a quick ratings grab, off the back of more succesful formats such as Pop Idol and Big Brother.
For goodness sake, Pop Idol showed you the vocal training lessons every week, I wouldn't have said it was particularly a "learning element".

Why do you and your cliquey buddies have this near-obsessive desire to ruin every thread or pour scorn on every comment I make? How about giving me a break? You and a clique pal couldn't resist gatecrashing my time on Radio Lincolnshire. Fans of mine, my bottom. I told Rod afterwards "Don't believe every e-mail you read!"
This show has a continuous feed which shows EVERY lesson as it happens. There are a lot of useful hints and tips I've picked up from them. I firmly believe it to be the most educational of the lot because of this. Why not hop along to Digital Spy and see in motion a whole Fame Academy Forum run in a positive, open and genial manner devoid of constant snipe?

Saw half the first show and the results.
Like the new academy - the main stage looks alot better.
Seems to be problems with the backing mix on the results show - quite often there were cuts in the theme when there really shouldn't have been.
They seem to have a big studio for BBC3 - but I can't stand Claudia myself!
I still prefer the format of the first series with three facing the vote - but it's an enjoyable watch - though Richard Park is certainly no Simon Cowell - but admitedly he doesn't try to be!
I think the fact it's for Comic Relief gives the show a better feel than the other so celebrity charity reality shows - and it's good to see the show filled with clips on what the money goes towards!
