Odd, we normally have a thread much earlier than this. I had a quick look, but even if there is one there hasn't been much activity tonight!

Anyway, that studio is a lot smaller than normally, isn't it? It feels like a different show, with a lot less atmosphere. Is there any reason for this? Perhaps to save costs?

Also, I've been watching for 45 minutes or more and I don't think there's been a total, nor any live links to places like BT Tower or so on.

Overall, a very different feeling, unless I'm remembering wrongly.

There was a live link to the BT Tower during the Fearne Cotton moment on Moyles' show earlier on the red button.

EDIT : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggMH620zlgI 3:50 in.

Plus, bonus footage of the lovely Fearne. Embarassed Embarassed

No crosses to BT Tower even Chris Moyles did that! Although a recorded clip pre 10pm aired from BT.
Totals not very frequent, very much a clip link to next clip show this year, with a a handful of studio based performances.

EDIT: Yes BBC Radio 1 had a few crosses to BT Tower, Greg James went up there Wednesday night to light up the display outside for the support message. With Cameras for Red Button service!!

In Radio Times the news was at 2230, presumably to give them a bigger pre-news chunk, but it was 2200 as usual tonight - I'm guessing this was because of the Japan/Libya stories that this was changed?

Yeah they mentioned on-air that the BBC News had moved back to 10 O'Clock due to today's news stories. Comic Relief was then moved over to BBC Two.

Also, the EastEnders Special aired to start with with no sound, so they stopped it and went into Upstairs Downstairs Abbey, and played the EastEnders Special a bit later.

Yes it was mentioned during the show that it was changed because of

I think the show has picked up since 10pm, probably if some things were put in a different order it would have come across better.

Yes, I've watched/listened to a huge amount of the Radio 1 stuff - but it's not really the same!

It's disappointingly flat tonight with far too much emphasis on recorded VTs and virtually no live entertainment other than music, which is a huge shame. It just hasn't got it's usual unpredictable live energy - something that Chris Moyle's radio show had in abundance over the last couple of days.

Couldn't agree with you more - it's very flat, not like previous years at all. What happened to Dawn French snogging everybody she sees?

And, "coming up is a group of Welsh stars with a tribute to Newport!" - didn't the "Newport Ymerodraeth State of Mind" song get banned?

Loved Ant and Dec's gatecrashing of TV and radio studios, everything from Radio Clyde to Classic FM and QVC to At The Races!

They visited as many places as they could in one day - looks like it all took place on Monday (14th).

It did, they had to broadcast to so many viewers/listeners on as many TV programmes or radio stations within a set amount of time.

Nice to see them back on kids TV though (CBBC) and robbing QVC!
