Yes but the 'central' letters should be upside down which means there would be inconsistency with the logo and idents.
Just because the logo isn't in the ident doesn't mean it wont feature somewhere else...

At 3:55am into Scrubs this morning they aired one of the new idents by accident. Complete with a voiceover and old corner bug. I will upload a video of it later.
Edit the next two junctions used the new idents. So far we have seen the carpark, football and housing estate idents.

Hear hear.
Regarding the new idents - those "test" ones linked to earlier in the thread don't look very inspiring.
I still remember then filming the "cars" ident from the current package outside my work and being hurried along the pavement on the way home as they were trying to film it with no people in shot.
They had a huge green screen at the bottom of the road which the Comedy Central logo was superimposed on afterwards.
I just hope they work out how to do 16:9 anamorphic as part of this refresh

The idents are in 16:9 leaving two black bars on top and below the clip like their Christmas idents. http://www.skyidents.com/resources/train%20doors%20d.jpg.opt387x283o0,0s387x283.jpg

I'm not too fussed on these new ones. I'm surprised the current logo got replaced in the US, never mind over here. It was a pretty good and moderately iconic logo. To replace it by what we're seeing now is a bad move, IMO.
Also, I contacted CC a while ago asking why they're showing widescreen stuff on CC HD and not on their regular channels, and they said they were working on it. I can only assume we'll see that happen on the 1st.

Its not the same typeface, this one is heavier and the letterforms are slightly different. The difference is most obvious if you compare the As and the Rs.
It will interesting to see what the logo will look like. I can't think of any other entertainment channel with a five syllable name that uses a pure wordmark as its logo, so it would be groundbreaking if they went with that.
Eh? They have adopted the US logo. That's the typeface.
