Comedy Central are such an inept channel, for the first three weeks or so of the current series of 30 Rock they were running announcements over the credits despite the fact there's always action over the credits, until seemingly somebody noticed the programme hadn't actually finished. And I think every episode of this series has been introduced with the same announcement. I'm glad this series has been axed so I no longer have to watch this awful channel.
CC seems to be having problems with idents for announcements, with the announcement going over the establishing shots of shows, I noticed this around 3 o'clock today, but may have been going on all day.

I think that's very unfair to say. that was only one problem you mentioned and as you say it was fixed after a few weeks.
I personally really like Comedy Central at the moment, it has arguably the best presentation on TV at the moment, including its humorous breakbumpers, and its current #Jubes adverts, not to mention its Christmas presentation last year. It's also brought Friends in HD and shows Frasier season 10 and 11 in HD, and has all of the remastered HD South Park episodes.

I think CC is a great channel, but it just proves why I think automated, pre-recorded continuity is terrible. CC once showed Police Academy 7 as "a show that is so great, it needs no introduction". Just unprofessional.

That's good... A TV station not watching it's output for weeks!

Only if it's not done correctly, every other channel that seem to manage perfectly fine with it. What they do differently I have no idea
It's not a new thing with CC, years ago when it was Paramount Comedy they regularly got their annos out of sync. So at the end of a programme it would introduce the one you'd just seen and then at the intro to the next you get the outro of the last

There are many other problems with it as well, including the fact this series of 30 Rock was billed as repeats for about three weeks when it was actually new, while the last series was actually taken off before the end of its run despite still being billed as continuing in all the TV guides. And the fact that on the SD channel they were showing 16:9 shows in a 4:3 frame.

Back in the Paramount days, didn't the channel also used to have timing issues with its output, regularly ending up with transmitting programmes at seemingly random times that bore no resembalance to the times in the magazine/ EPG? I seem to remember reading about it on the old Paramount Mailbox text service.

I know the first night it appeared on cable round here, sharing the same channel as Nick, I tuned in for 'Soap', & they were running about 10 minutes late.
Ahh Mailbox I remember it well, along with GOLDTEXT.

I'm not sure that's gone away. I rarely look at CC but the last time there was something on I wanted to watch, it was far too late on. I assumed the EPG was wrong and I went elsewhere

I don't believe that has ever happened to me whilst watching the channel or recording programmes from the channel, and I watch a lot of CC.

Oh yeah, those upscaled cropped idents are a feast for the eyes.
