Classic deal breaker. If Comcast get Sky, then Disney will be undone in their C21 Fox bid.

The bad things I've heard are about their cable/ISP business in the US. I don't know how good an owner they've been of NBC

I dont this will happen. Sky as a whole around the world is more valuable.

From what I’ve heard they are a good owner to NBCUniversal employees with benefits. There have been some union issues that have been resolved. I think they’re good with a work / life balance and benefits. They haven’t laid off NBCU employees like they did when GE Owned the company. Additionally they’ve invested in better programming; news division; local stations by adding staffers, upgrading technology, and building new facilities. If you look at where NBC was ranking primetime wise when they took over #4 in demo and viewers to now #1 in demo and viewers - it’s quite a turn around from six years.

One thing though is their theme park employees got screwed over. When Comcast fully took over NBCUniversal they gave stocks to everyone - but apparently long time Universal Studios employees didn’t get any.

The Comcast cable side is where you here the bad stuff like customer support call centers trying to upsell, quotas and other things. But unfortunately a lot of that happens at corporate call centers especially ones that deal with support. I myself haven’t had any issues or trouble with them.

Edit : I honestly thought they’d go after ITV.

Edit 2 : Here are the press releases and nitty gritty details direct from Comcast.

As far as NBC News is concerned they’ve not had a good time of late.

They’ve missed some big stories such as the Trump Apprentice & Access Hollywood tapes (both NBC shows..) and there is the sacking of Matt Lauer for alleged sexual harrasment.

If NBC partner with Sky than ITV will need a new US partner, most likely ABC News.

Absolutely anything that pulls a UK media company from Murdoch's grubby paws gets my vote.

There’s something distinctly unconvincing about Comcast’s claim that it was a conversation with a cab driver and a demo of SkyQ in a shopping centre that prompted the bid:

Though it would mean a rather large and extremely profitable British company becoming entirely foreign owned which isn't a good thing. Something that isn't necessarily gauranteed with the Disney/Fox takeover

"Necessarily guaranteed" being the operative words in that post.

In any case, who is to say that Comcast won't simply buy a controlling stake.

That would stop disney getting full control? and disney might have battle to come for years?
