Just before 2am ahead of the weather, a mess-up with the timing of all trails and the forecast itself, with momentary black screens, video being cut-off before the end and switching to others stuck on the 1st frame waiting to play...
How would something like that happen?
I was also surprised to see the large quantity of trails that were readily available - surely they wouldn't all have been used in the junction.
They always seem to leave the best stuff till late.
Well BBC4 just made a mess at 7pm. Transmission started well into the ident with the announcer mid sentence, announcer continues over most of first trail, next trail cuts off to black. Ident plays, cuts to black and silence, first frame of programme appears, cuts back to ident with sound.
Truly abysmal. Even if the automation is throwing it's rattle well out of the pram, it's usually possible to cut the junction down to the bare minimum and get into the next programme manually (or in this case Weatherview or whatever it's called these days). Mind you, with fewer people involved these days it's sometimes a matter of what can be achieved while fighting a computer! I notice there wasn't even a hint of a live announcer. Presumably there wasn't one to fill over a menu while the director got Weatherview in the gate.
