I saw them a few days ago on UTV. It's the same ad as you've come to know and love. Smile

I have seen one, can't really remember what it was but it was a christmas one but the trucks appear at the very end of the ad, so it has been changed slightly. It still has the music though.

I don't like the old one."And the little train went,oh hang on,there's one coming through the wall,i can go to bed now,sit there and enjoy the Christmas!". I like the new swoosh adverts and the trucks are still there.
But i hope they've still got the christmassy short polar bears advert!

In recent years they've saved that add until the week or so before Christmas!

I'm sure I've seen the Polar Bears used to bridge the gap between Christmas & New Year before.

Something that has got me thinking, is why do advertisers tend not to advertise on Christmas Day? Even if they have nothing to sell, wouldn't it be nice for them to just have an advert saying Merry Christmas from... just to reinforce their brands on people?

Also, do you think that advertisers would be more attracted to advertise on christmas day if ITV put on a strong programmee line up?

They don't as everyone has bought everything for Christmas, Autumn is a critical time for ITV and ratings as this is the time when the Advertisers which to advertise so we can get their products in time for Christmas. It can also explain why that most Christmasses ITV don't seem to bother with many new programmes as they know that the advertisers won't need to advertise.

Depends where you live really, but here on ITV1 Granada we usually get endless adverts for The Trafford Centre Christmas Sale or B&Q's Sale, something that can get earlier and earlier each year, as these are the only sort of adverts that tend to dominate Christmas Day viewing.

Or knowing our luck we may get endless adverts for New Magazines, as there were loads of them last time round! Evil or Very Mad

As everyone knows its back to back DFS Sale adverts from about 4pm on Christmas Eve until further notice.

I'm sure some companies used to do a 'Merry Christmas' advert, but the cost of buying the space - revenue gained probably = let's not bother.

It's nothing to do with ITV putting on a strong line-up. What's stronger than 2 hours of soaps, advertisers love this the rest of the year round!. Remember they don't care about ground breaking new drama they just want bums on seats

I wouldn't mind Sales adverts on Christmas Day if they were still in the companies Christmas Style, though as soon as Christmas Day comes along they don't seem to bother, and that puts a whole miserable approach on the whole day (for me personally).

They spend 3 months filling our screens with Christmas, and then when the day comes, no Christmas!

The original music to the Xmas Coca Cola truck advert is based on the song 'Wonderful Dream' by Melanie Thornton .

Just incase you didn't know Confused
