having watched coast tonight i was surprised to see it credited as a "bbc northern ireland" production. where as (iirc) all previous editions have been credited to bbc birmingham. indeed the production office is in the mailbox, and bbc mids have made a big fuss of producing the series it has left me wondering why this episode has been credited to bbc ni.
I'm having a guess here - that all non-English versions have the involvement of the national region. I didn't see the one featuring Wales (I believe the third episode), but I do know it had BBC Wales involvement.
Some of the folks in the credits were BBC NI people - Roger Ford Hutchinson I seem to recall was the final credit (either a producer or director) - my recollections have him producing BBC NI's education programmes. Heather (McAlpine?) was also in the credits, another NI person.
As I have stated in Newsroom, it's a pity that BBC NI couldn't produce the link piece to Donna (BBC Newsline) on interactive. Miranda (filmed in Cardiff) hadn't a clue how to pronounce the river Belfast sits on.
I've been very much enjoying the series, right up until tonight, but I've now given up on it as I don't see how on earth a programme about the coast of the UK involves ignoring everything between Bowness-on-Solway and Glasgow and then concentrating on shipbuilding and nuclear submarines for twenty-five minutes.
