Just noticed that CNN have moved their First Evening News from 6pm to 7pm. Now, unless I'm very much mistaken, the idea of First Evening News was that it aired half an hour before the network bulletins, hence the name. But now, if it's on at 7pm that makes it, in fact, the last evening news! Oh dear...

D'uh CNN!
That would be like ITN moving the News at Ten to 11 o'clock, or something like that! Oh, hold on...

The First Evening News is a bit of a let down really. I listened the other day, expecting it to be a new ident etc etc, it was the same music used on CNN Tonight and had nothing particularly special about the programme.
In fact, the intro was perhaps the most boring I've ever seen from a CNN programme...
'From CNN Center in Atlanta, this is the First Evening News, with Bill Hemmer' - said in a very un-inspiring way!
CNN can't have been getting enough viewers for the programme, I suppose. Crazy!

Has anyone seen the programme (possibly not, if they've had to move it...)? I've heard it has its own set, but I can't remember where I heard that!

Well, it still goes on at 4pm on the West Coast, so the name makes sense out West.

CNN's programming names have always amusing me.
CNN Live at Daybreak is the morning programme for the East coast.
Then CNN Morning News could act as the morning programme for the west coast
CNN Today is pretty neutral (I know I'm missing the 'Live' out of the programme names!)
Then after CNN Today they normally go on to Inside Politics, the Evening News, To the Point etc etc.
We're just lucky we don't have more than one time zone!
