On the point about CNBC being rebranded as CNBC Europe, I recently received a free gift as a thank you for taking part in one of their viewer surveys, and the address label had the usual six colour CNBC peacock logo with the words 'CNBC: A Service of NBC and Dow Jones' underneath, while the letter inside had the same CNBC logo and 'a service of...' title, as appeared on the address label, but with 'Europe' added under the CNBC logotype.

CNBC got really popular around 1999-2000 when everyone was investing in dot-com stocks and wanted to watch them all the time. But now ... it's just sort of a distant cousin to MSNBC. MSNBC still isn't that great ... they try to stretch about 10 hours of programming into a 24-hour network.

Plus, here in the States, we have SNBC, which is a shopping channel. Not that great, but it's another NBC property.

And, of course, your local NBC stations, which for me is KNSD-TV-DT San Diego, one of about seven NBC owned-and-operated stations.

More information than you probably wanted, but anyway.
