Has anyone noticed post 11/9 that CNBC has now changed all it's logo's to CNBC Europe. This makes it sound not as right. Though CNBC in Asia hasn't changed it's name to CNBC Asia.

Also past 11/9 there has been way more Ameican coverage. I don't think they care about CNBC Europe that much anymore.

Does anyone know why CNBC changed it's name to CNBC Europe?

Also what does the C in CNBC stand for?

When it launched it stood for Consumer News Business Channel.

In Europe, CNBC stands for nothing now, as it states so in the FAQs at cnbceurope.com

As seen from the image CNBC Asia does appear on it's channel but on air it's only said sometimes - it's mostly CNBC that is said.

I have to say that I prefer the asia layout with the Asia text smaller than the CNBC text unlike CNBC Europe who now make it look horrible.  They should make the text 'Europe' smaller!

CNBC - more DOGs than anyone else -
CNBC EUROPE, CNBC (full colour - Asia), CNBC (transparent - US), NBC (without text), NBC (with text), MSNBC. All of which can be shown in a 24 hour period and sometimes more than one at the same time!

Love the music used by CNBC Europe and Asia though. (US seems to use different music). Even incorporates the NBC Network's three note theme tune.

By the way, does anyone think MSNBC should follow Fox News onto Sky Digital?

Yeah I'd love to be able to watch MSNBC. It is much more professional than Fox. I might email them to see if they have any plans for the UK/Ire.

It really a waste asking as they just point you to a page on how to get it in the US, even though you have clearly stated that you are in the UK and it's not currently broadcast! Confused

MSNBC never answer e-mails - they're really obnoxious that way...

And I doubt that MSNBC will broadcast in the UK any time soon. They just started broadcasting in Canada. MSNBC is in bad shape in the US. It's the lowest rated cable news network by far and has not done much to improve itself. Changes have been instituted, but it's still a struggling channel. Post-September 11th the channel has been in the red.

On the subject on CNBC, does anyone have any MP3s of the music used on the channel, eg. some of the idents and programme bumpers?

It's pretty ace stuff.

CNBC World started in the first part of this year on digital cable in the US. It doesn't have large-scale coverage yet, and it doesn't have carriage on AT&T's HITS(Headend-In-The-Sky) constellation at this point. HITS is the most widely used distribution medium for digital cable systems in the US.

The schedule is made up primarily of both the European and Asian market coverages from CNBC Europe and CNBC Asia. The schedule is on the web at http://www.nbccableinfo.com/insidenbccable/publishing/cnbcworld/programs/schedule.html.

American audiences that don't have access to it will get to see it (at least in part) on the domestic CNBC on days when the American markets are not up and running. The next shot here will be Memorial Day (last Monday in May).
