OK, it's technically not TV pres related... but don't forget that clocks go forward at 1am to 2am BST.

Now the TV related bit... I was watching BBC1 hand over to the Commonwealth Games just now, but the announcer didn't mention anything regarding the clocks going forward like they usually do (Ah, the good old days of the on screen clock suddenly jumping forward an hour!)

So I'm trying to keep an eye on the other channels to see if anything gets mentioned in the last programmes just before 1am.

Oh, and we'll have to keep an eye on Ceefax as well... you'll probably remember the debacle we had when they couldn't update the time stamp in October!

There shouldn't be any problems this time. Its harder to put the clocks back than it is forward. (or perhaps i'm still a few decades behind).

Don't forget that the news channels normally struggle with these time changes. BBC News 24 (or News 23 for the time change!) normally can take up to 45 minutes to reflect the change.

BBC ONE played Tango, and there was absolutely no mention of the change.

BBC TWO haven't mentioned it either, we've got a couple of 5 minute junctions left (weather forecast, then The Witness) then that's it presumably, just jump one hour straight to the LZ.

Bit of a shame there is no clock that will go forward on-air.

Wha? Matthew Jackson on BBC2 saying "Hello Helen" into Weatherview?! Trying to strike up a conversation with her! Laughing

Laughing Nice touch!

Just mentioned it there on TWO following the Weather; making it clear that the Learning Zone starts in 5 minutes. Anno can be viewed

Looks like Sky News' clock has magically jumped an hour ahead after the break.

No mention of the clocks going forward on C4 - just a plug for "Moby: Live in Concert" starting in 35 minutes.

IRN did their usual "It's 1:00" then "it's 3 minutes past 2"...

Ceefax changed a few minutes after 2am... but at 2:15 Teletext still hasn't updated their clock (despite having a reminder to do so on their front page!)

Oh, and my computer automatically updated from the Windows time server! Very Happy Razz.... but I had to ask my radio-controlled watch to look for the signal from Rugby to update it!

Ceefax and Teletext don't appear to have updated yet

Freeview EPG is now showing the correct time (that's fast for them).

The windows time server and every other NTP time server just generates UTC time. The PC adjusts this for local time including changes in summer time/wintertime based on an internal rule set ie go forward one hour on the last Sunday in the month of March at 2AM if in the UK etc. The only thing NTP's UTC really adjusts for is leap seconds.

That is, apart from a number of explanations and at least one graphic from the BBC Sport team in Melbourne.
