I was looking through an old tape at the weekend and thought I could share some images of some classic Nickelodeon presentation from the golden age of the channel. Bring back those memories if you had Sky or cable back in those days.

I think these images are from about 10 years ago.

Rick Adams presenting Nickalive! in the first studio they had at the Trocadero

The first set they had after they moved to Rathbone Place, can you remember all this lot?

by gum yes!

wasn't it around the CBBC era of Otis the Aardvark? I remember there being a puppet of some description on CBBC on Nick - i can't remember the name or what it actually was though.

I do remember CBBC on Nick. Ive got some on tape somewhere with a fault going into Pingu. The DOG was a mixture of the BBC logo and one of the orange Nick blobs.

I think it may have been Emlyn the Gremlyn who was more suited to the type of programmes they were trying to pull in. The younger Nick Jnr generation.

Andrew....are you able to get this into Real Video...

...as I loved this animation in which the orange blobs would morph into different objects

AFAIK, unless i'm very much mistaken, these two

are still on nick, decades after other presenters have moved on to bigger ventures. Whats holding them back?

Mounya left a few years ago, but I believe Yiolanda is still on Nick, even though I think a lot of the live presentation has decreased over the years.

Does anyone know the name of this font and if it's available from anywhere?

I used to think they were twins. The one on the right was there recently, i'm not sure if she is still there. The one on the left was there only a year or 2 ago i'm sure but not there anymore.

By the way, i do have 2 clips of old Nickelodeon presentation here, one of the break bumper from 1994 and one of the classic nicktoons frontcap:

I have fond memories of the Trocadero(sp) studio though. Remember all the annoying kids walking up to the window and making faces? Nowadays they'd never get away with having an open window in the studio.

I belive Yiolanda left at the end of last summer, like the rest of the old presenters and now it's gone very USA.

Well when we got Cable, Paramount always used to start showing their Promos around 6.58pm or so, so the Nick dog usually remained onscreen.

Never seen that ident, I also thought it has always been known as Paramount Comedy not The Paramount Channel.
