I'd have to say that the hits tend to have the same vids or types of vid. This classic vid selection is superb, i'd like to see some classic vids, some pop and a sprinkling of other things. Some Novelty records would be nice too (Monty Python - Every Sperm is Sacred, anyone? )
Don't know if you saw VHI last weekend but there was a 100 Worst Videos, showing novelty records like Shaddap Ya Face by Joe Dolce, etc
I know, I saw promos for it on TMF. Sadly I dont have Sky
Hopefully something similar will come along soon on terrestrial or Freeview.

I've been watching The Hits on and off for about the past 3/4 of an hour and noticed something very strange. At the top of the hour they played Imagine by John Lennon without any graphics at all. Fair enough, it's a classic song and was played during the classic hits thing over the weekend.
But the next few songs after that were covered in the usual graphics, and then every song since has either been covered in the usual graphics...or completely clean! It never seems to be more than two songs without them being either clear or graphics or covered in the usual graffiti. Very strange and quite interesting to see. A change of policy perhaps? At first I thought it was a problem with their graphics server.
The graphics have been funny on the hits recently, I think they are triggered at the start of songs so they often return at the start of a song after breaking down instead of coming up in the middle.
TMF's were broke earlier aswell.
I have noticed though that The Hits have cropped REM's video to 16:9 by chopping off the bottom of the picture and moving it all down. The fake ticker in the video (a news channel spoof) was interfering with their own one.
All the EMAP channels that have shown REM's Bad Day have done this crop. As Hymagumba says, the REM ticker plus the EMAP info would have made the bottom of the screen too damn busy! See the uncropped version on MTVNE and CSTV channels (and the Amp). Classic Hits weekend: a blinder! Let's see more of a mix of classic tunes like that on screen - maybe a classic hits week, or even classic hits channel (I don't mean like VH1 Classic, I mean one that does recent classics like on the Hits' CHW)...
The music channels on FV should be different - there's no point having two very similar channels (especially on FV).
