The synopsis of the first 2 episodes is now on Digiguide. If anyone can work out the start date / episode from this info.

Sarah is surprised when Jack returns, while Joe wants to buy Jack's share of the farm. Matt calls out the vet after seeing the condition of the sheep in a Tate truck.

and

Rachel is devastated to hear that Lynn's pregnant. Chris manages to put his foot in it with Kathy. Matt is shocked when Dolly tells him she wants a divorce.

First episode is 1403 - the first to be broadcast as merely "Emmerdale."

Assuming no breaks in transmission or episodes skipped, the Plane Crash will be the second episode on Thursday 14th November this year.

Be interesting to see if they take the scissors to the Post Office siege.

I would imagine now this will be shown either before of after Christmas depending if they have a break or not. Could need to be delayed as close to the Lockerbie and on air anniversary.

I doubt they'd be bothered about that, they weren't back in 1993.

Yes you are right.

Will be interesting to see when it does air with all these breaks etc.

I was only planning to watch until the mid 1995 episodes when Annie and Amos return briefly. That should air by summer of next year; agsin depending on scheduling.

Keeping on track and Presentation related; am I right in thinking we are around two weeks off the new look Emmerdale with new music and new titles? In effect a definite end of the old era and cementing of the new era pre plane crash change era.

I wonder if it was Morag Bain’s idea to make these changes or if it came from higher above?

The Virgin EPG lists the 15/9/92 episode (the first to use the new titles and music) as being next Friday.

Probably needed to be changed anyway, the woolpack shot has been out of date since early 1991, and the farm shot at the end of the titles and under the credits would have been from early 1993 when they have to move due to subsidence.

Several shots from the 1989 titles do appear in the 1992 titles. And the 93 and 94 ones, all have footage from the previous ones. The 1994 titles also rather curiously have a shot of a helicopter taking off which comes from Chris and Kathy's wedding episode in 1991.

I noticed that shot of the helicopter from the wedding during the 1994 titles.

Also interesting these and the 1993 titles last just over or just under a year when the 1994 titles lasted longer.

Is it me, or did the 1992 closing titles sometimes have a slightly different track to the main titles?

What I can't get my head around is why on earth they reverted to the pre 1992 music for the 1993 closing credits, lasting from the plane crash for most of 1994. Seemed a very odd thing to do considering the main purpose of plane crash was to shake up the show and prove it had moved on from the Farm era.

When the 1992 titles debuted I do believe some viewers were not keen on the new music. This may be why from 1993 titles for a while they used a new version for opening; plus the older version for the close as a way of pleasing the viewers. When you think about it; the older music was more appropriate for the December 30th 1993 episode which was also my 18th Birthday.
