In real life that inquest would be part of an AAIB investigation but it was a very low key affair.

Elizabeth is seen lying face down in the woodland area that seen a lot in those episodes. I think it's the first episode set the morning after.

It certainly wasn't terrorism related - presumably for obvious reasons. As you say it's portrayed as terrible accident in the narrative and there is no mention of foul play.

Though they'd dropped "farm" from the titles, the 1989 titles are still quite farming oriented, with cows, sheep, tractors, chickens and combine harvesters in them, as well as geese, sheep and a border collie over the end credits. They seemed to slowly get dropped with every title refresh in the 90s though, by the 1994 titles the only farming shot left was a shot of lambs jumping around (which I think originally appeared in the 1992 titles).

Bringing it back on topic though...

Emmerdale's sexing up was a casualty of the franchise auction in an indirect way. In an interview for the 40th anniversary, Phil Redmond noted "one London company did a lot of research to prove that it would be better to axe Emmerdale and they do their own new show."

When bought in by YTV and asked what he felt was required to boost the ratings he said "Scrap it, and buy a new one from me."

The following interview with Redmond is here and offers some background, plus a fascinating interview with Ian Rowley, who did the SFX for the plane crash that resulted. Especially interesting as they still filmed in Esholt at this point.

He was also involved with blowing the Queen Vic up for EastEnders.

When Phil Redmond talks about a Virus storyline for Christmas 1994; that did happen in Brookside in 1995.

I may have noticed a flaw in one of the Classic Emmerdale Episodes from Tuesday or Wednesday. Amos and Seth were talking about the Tap Room which has not been used for over twenty years.

When they moved form Arncliffe to Esholt; the Woolpack was declared unsafe and therefore they relocated to a new pub in a different part of the village. Were Amos and Seth talking about The Woolpack forgetting about the move or the Pub that was then renamed The Woolpack?

Todays second episode went out filmised (or at least it has done on my recording on it), have they hired whoever was running Drama's EastEnders repeats last Autumn?

I thought the exact same when watching it that it had the filmic look, would this be have been added post original airing.
