Where is Home Farm filmed, and is it the same location as used originally. Did it debut with Frank Tates arrival?

It's Creskeld Hall near Otley. It appeared long before the Tates arrived - in fact, it's been used since 1972 according to Wikipedia. They used a replica in 2014 when there was a fire at Home Farm but have since gone back to Creskeld.

I haven’t watched Emmerdale regularly since the 90s, so I’m basing this mainly on what I’ve read, but I do find that the sudden introduction of various businesses or locations seemingly in Emmerdale Village purely because they suit the plot leaves the viewer somewhat confused to the size and location of Emmerdale and its surrounding towns/villages. Recently I hear there is a “Hotten International Airport” - that doesn’t really suit the impression previously given of Hotten as a small market town. Hotten seemingly also has a large hospital with an A&E department. The pile up storyline in 2017 seemed to happen in a location very close to the Barton residence - yet earlier episodes gave no hint of a major highway so close to the village. This makes me wonder why the producers feel the need to keep everything so insular - it’s much more realistic that the characters would have to travel to somewhere like Leeds-Bradford to catch a plane or have a fair hike to the nearest casualty department.

The airport reference was ridiculous and is best forgotten, but most other references are fine.

Otley for example has a bypass, I think Hotten is supposed to be a fairly decent sized town now

The bypass may not be the best example, but my point is more that locations like the bypass (beside Emmerdale rather than Hotten) seem to suddenly exist when required for a storyline, but never got a mention previously.

Remember The Beast Of Beckindale In 1994.

I don’t think that had been mentioned before 😀

I remember that well. Didn't Seth end up shooting it?

Something tells me that the scene starting at 38:30 in this episode from Boxing Day 1995 may end up on the cutting room floor...

rdobbie, Si-Co and South Today gave kudos

Just needs a slight edit of a few seconds and the scene can continue.

Just wait until it gets to those episodes where Sam Dingle used to do Jimmy Saville impressions all the time.
