Looks like Classic Emmerdale repeats are starting - they've appeared on Digiguide on ITV3 from 21/1. Look to be airing 1.45pm and 2.15pm weekdays, just before Corrie.
The Classic Corrie thread has generated a fair bit of discussion so I thought this might be of interest too - if not, feel free to close.
Looks to be started in 1989 from what I've gathered - the first episode to be called Emmerdale instead of Emmerdale Farm, and the first appearance of Chris Tate.

After posting I did think 1989 would be more suitable if they weren't starting from the beginning, as obviously you'd then get the build-up to the crash but still after the derided 'boring' era.

Surprised it's being shown before Classic Coronation Street, rather than after it, as it means that it will clash with Classic EastEnders on Drama, which is currently being shown between 1pm and 2:20pm.
If they did start at the beginning, at 2 episodes a day they would still get through the Emmerdale Farm era pretty quickly, as it wasn't on year round until around 1987, often only around 60 or 70 episodes a year until the mid 80s. In 1976 there were only around 40 episodes, so they'd get through that very quickly!
I have been watching some episodes recently on You Tube. I preferred Emmerdale Farm. I don’t watch at all now. I also watched the plane crash episodes again recently.
It was a shame Sheila Mercier’s 100th Birthday On New Year’s Day went without a mention.

1989 and the name change is a good place to start from. It also allows us to revisit Chris through his early, able-bodied years, and then see the way paralysis changes him into the bitter and twisted character in the decade that followed. You've also still got great storylines like Kim and Neil's affair. In short, we will get the epic mid 90s period but get the build up first. I can't be the only fan who got into it via the plane crash, so to get a build up to that is no bad thing.
Same pace as EastEnders then - one day to one week. Should easily hit the plane crash this year.
