Ah yes, the one off charity episode. It was truly awful.

I think I'm in a minority,but it wasn't that bad.And don't say yes it was.This is a matter of opinion.

Glad to see this thread still going Very Happy

Got "Ressurection Of The Daleks" today and have to say what a brilliant story it was, even better than City Of Death. The spaceship's reminded me a bit of Red Dwarf (First two series) but you could see they had alot more in the budget pot by 1983.

Peter Davidson was a great Doctor as well, strange seeing him play a rather serious character though as I had seen him "At Home With The Braithwaites" & "The Last Detective" before seeing this.

I'm going to try and get all the Dalek episodes first off I think, shame none of Troughton's exist in full, by what people are writing in this thread he sounded like a great Doctor. Very Happy

EDIT: Just looking through the Troughton years, it's amazing how many episodes are missing or incomplete, but then again it was different back in the 1960's wasn't it?

Also the first incarnation of the Cymbermen. Laughing Suprised The Doctor did just pull of their helmets like in Scooby Doo but thankfully they did quickly change the suits

That explains why the DVD cover looked different if it was the first one release, unlike BBC not to be uniform in it's DVD releases

A little while back the BBC put out a new cover via the Doctor Who website, in the current style - not sure if it's still there.

If it went to a series McGann would have been a great Doctor, he was much better than Eccleston in my book. But the BBC wanted to save costs and make it a co-production. Had they kept it in house like it sort of is now, there would have been less US interference and the show would have been made.

There were lots of good moments in that series and the console room never looked more stunning than it did in that movie.

Ah, what might have been. Sad

Just watched "An Unearthly child" and it was brilliant. How much the doctor has changed. Grumpy old man to funny young man. It was good when the doctor went to kill that caveman . He wouldn't do that know.

Resurrection Of The Daleks is always criticised for having too many plot points and being cluttered but in terms of action, pace and atmosphere it's fantastic. Certainly one of my favourites and it contains a great moment when Davison pushes a Dalek out of a window!! Very Happy

This was from Davison's last season and the stories were getting better. He actually said he felt he could have stayed longer because he was enjoying the show more, but he'd already made the decision to leave and the new Doctor was cast.

Very wise choice. Now you should Try Genesis of the Daleks or Revelation. Resurrection had some weird goofs though. A metal door being blown off, and then pieces of what is obviously wood lying around on the floor. Shooting the Dalek under the blanket and there being no bullet holes, and some of the worst acted deaths I have ever seen Razz

Is this the one with the dreadful acting by the woman who played Ruby in Upstairs Downstairs?

Yes it looks like Davison's gun wouldn't fire when he shot that Dalek thing wrapped in the blanket. And also why did they have to have guns with light bulbs on them!?! Awful and some of those supporting actors on the ship were just awful. I'm black but would rather see ethnic actors on the show because they are good.
