Oh. It's the dire, watered-down Peter Cushing film version.

Somehow Susan (who has regressed into a four-year-old) can write perfectly, the Doctor has become a fully human inventor, the TARDIS is just called 'Tardis' and Daleks can exterminate Thals with *switch on reverb and attack, increase volume* THE DEATH GAS FIRE EXTINGUISHER OF DOOM! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I watched the first few minutes of one of them.It was terrible.

I'd much rather have seen the Scratchman film.

And there was me hoping it was one of Jon Pertwee's adventure Embarassed

I finally got round to watching the movie & liked Paul McGann's portrail of the Doctor, just a shame he didn't do a few adventures before he was replaced.

Time-Flight/Arc Of Inifinity are out next week Very Happy Great I like the Peter Davison era. Have noticed though the distinct lack of Pertwee adventures on DVD, anyone know why. Afterall he was in the role for 5 years there must be a big enough catalogue to choose from

Is it really over thirty years? I didn't realise or think it was that long ago!

Perhaps BBC DVD's desire to have as "main" a cast memer as possible amongst the Audio Commentators is proving difficult. (i.e. the likes of Nicholas Courtney, Katy Manning (etc) are perhaps not easily available due to other work committments?), so 3rd Dr releases are being held back until such people are available to record a Commentary????

Ah that could be why, fair enough. I did notice in some of the other commentaries that certain cast members would refer to other commentaries they did yesterday with other cast members (I think it was Janet Fielding or Peter Davison who said something along those lines on the commentary for Castrovalva)

I managed to get hold of a copy of Shada on VHS yesterday and have to say how well they did it, just a shame that large parts of part five & six were never filmed, it was a rather good story. Very Happy

Indeed, Douglas Adams was a great writer.

I presume then that it will be very unlikely for a DVD release Sad

Well given that it was released on video, I'd say it was a possibility.

They'd have to do something else with the missing bits though, maybe get Cosgrove Hall in again? Much as I liked Uncle Tom's ramblings between the footage (Sh... sh... shaaaaaaadaaaaaaa!) you couldn't stick them on a DVD now as anything more than an extra.

I also think the soundtrack might need re-doing, didn't Keff step in for the VHS release?
