The Invasion
is turning out to be a great episode so far, Cosgrove Hall did some excellent animation, wish they would re animate some of the other missing episodes as well
Episode 4 of "The Tenth Planet" has surely GOT to be the absolute top candidate for the Cosgrove Hall treatment!
But annoyingly Troughton's very first story which was apparently one of his best has gone.
The story about how all of those Doctor Who episodes got lost just makes you want to cry. Every single episode existed right up to the 70's and then just before people could get their hands on them and save them, the tapes got junked!

I know rather ironic as at the time the BBC said that they were unlikely to repeat programmes
As they said on the commentary to Episode 4 of
The Invasion
it's rather strange that episodes 1 & 4 are missing but the rest remain intact. It was a great story in the end, I did worry that they would be stretching it a bit with Eight episodes but the story never got boring and was great all round. As I have said before such a shame that so many Troughton stories have been lost.
After watching alot of classic Doctor Who episodes I have been able to rate my top 5 favourite Doctors, they are:
5. Jon Pertwee
(to be fair I haven't watched many of his yet, hence his low entry)
4. Patrick Troughton
(just watch him running & leaping away from the Cybermen in
The Invasion
)
3. Peter Davison
(not everyone's cup of tea but
The Caves of Androzani
showed how great Peter Davison was in the role)
2. David Tennant
(Series 3 alone has shown how great he is in the role)
1. Tom Baker
(Who else, he IS The Doctor he did play the role long enough afterall)
I'm sure people will disagree with my list, especially Jon Pertwee's placement, but I have seen less of his stories compared to others. That being said all five were great Doctors IMHO.
Shame really, would rather they spent money on that than more reality shows
The Dalek Invasion of Earth
was a rather interesting story, each part had it's own name and the "team" didn't seem to stik together that much throughout the story. The whole Doctor character seem more human as well, with it sounding rather odd with the Grandfather/Granddaughter relationship.
Another rather odd thing was that the Daleks had special devices fitted so they could mover without the metal track as well as the Robomen, which never seem to be used by the Daleks again (well not from the stories I have seen)
The Visitation
was another great as well, the deisng of the android in it was so over the top but brilliant at the same time. It also had the "death" of the sonic screwdriver and also a cameo from John "I Say, I Say, Fred Elliot" Savident who I really wanted to be in it more & speak in his Fred Elliot accent
Survival
was again a good story although yet again watching it with that title sequence and that film quality it reminded me too much of a CBBC series. Anthony Ainley was great as The Master as always, Ace had grown up so much since
Rememberance of the Daleks
and nice to see an appearance by Stouffer
The plans they had for Series 27 sounded rather good as well in the documentary on disc 2, shame it never happened but then again we wouldn't have the series we ended up with today had it not been cancelled when it was.
Here's a good website, this person has made som excellent covers for adventures yet to be released, improved covers for ones already released (rememberance of the daleks) and some alternatives for the current run of Doctor Who.
Well after watching the other three Colin Baker DVD's that are currently available (The Mark of Rani, Vengance on Varos & The Two Doctors) I have to say that I have changed my mind about Colin Baker's Doctor.
I do actually like his Doctor, and two of the three stories were great (The Two Doctors was a bit iffy). I know some people didn't like the violent Doctor & didn't approve of him "attacking" his enemies but then again he was supposed to be a different Doctor. I like Peri as well, just a shame they cut her short like they did with Colin Baker.
Both of them come over as really nice, down to Earth people on the documentary on The Mark Of Rani DVD and I personally think it's a shame that they did put the show on hold for 18 months. Colin Baker was unrecognisable in the documentary, but Nicola Bryant had hardly changed at all in the last 25 years.
Also learnt something new on the documentary that Colin Baker did all of his own stunts, which apparently he was the only one of the old series that did.
