Yes, those are the graphics.

I just found this little showreel:

He only lasted a few months I think. Quite wooden as well. Apparently he was only 16 when he did this!

The title of one of the Youtube clips on the previous page leads me to the question - was there a CITV2 on ITV2 at launch? I vaguely remember something (not that I had ITV2 at the time) but think it might have been under a different brand aimed at teenagers, and I can't see anything on TV Ark.

If I remember correctly, GMTV2 was kids programmes, which later took CITV branding, and simulcast with the CITV channel when that launched.

There's a couple of clips of CITV on ITV2 on here (use Ctrl+F to find 'CITV on ITV2')

http://www2.tv-ark.org.uk/itv_citv/

There was also GMTV2 Kids but I can't remember what continuity they may have had on there. I remember the logo that they used in trails though:

I think GMTV2 pre-CITV branding largely featured pre school shows. I remember they'd always finish well before 9:25 and they'd fill the time with the most tedious filler of some toddlers playing with a load of toys accompanied by just the most dreadful library music known to man.

It's funny how the GMTV2 requirement lasted as long as it did. They ended up shifting it over to ITV4 when they wanted to make ITV2 24 hours meaning there were kids programmes for three hours each morning on ITV4 which was odd.

Did this end with GMTV? I know it was all to do with the licensing of ITV Breakfast.

Thanks - I missed them completely when looking earlier.

I think it technically still exists though now on the CITV channel.

If I recall correctly, this was still back in the days when GMTV was operationally independent of ITV thanks to a 25% stake owned by Disney. GMTV were required to show x many hours of Childrens programming, most of which didn't have to be on the main service but had to be available nationwide on Digital. Since the CITV Channel was not available on Freeview in Wales at the time, that stream did not count towards their franchise commitments, hence it moving from ITV2 to ITV4 (which, I think, had just got a 24 hour slot on Freeview?).

I'm sure GMTV had much grander plans for GMTV2 than what they ended up using it for, originally.

Aww loved that era growing up as a kid, brings back memories with the "It's A ---- Kind Of Thing". Got a bit daft when they had all the newbies come in, though the bigger studio was cool.

Including the young male newbie who only lasted a couple of days. Mainly because on his first day Danielle asked him what his favourite CITV programme was and he nervously said 'Live & Kicking' then stunned silence. There was a video of this on Youtube I saw a few years ago but can't seem to find it now.

Was this "Tom"? Now better known as Arthur Darvill, who played Rory in Doctor Who for a few series.

No it wasn't Tom/Arthur. I think this was before they were around as it was definitely in the old set so it must have been sometime in 1999/2000. As a frequent viewer of CITV in this era, it was someone I did not recognise at all. I'm hoping it's still on Youtube somewhere so I'll carry on looking.

There was somebody called Bryn who hosted with Dannielle during spring/summer 1999 when Stephen was on holiday. Other than that I can only think of Ben from the Top 10 of Everything who guest hosted in the small 1998/99 studio.

A few brief clips in these videos, also featuring a hideous DOG.. Spoilered due to lots of embedded videos.
