Was that the era of the polystyrene-looking (to me anyway) studio with the Swag Bag?

Yes. For the first few months Michael and Leah were there too, until they left.

Ha ha, I always thought it looked like polystyrene too, Laura was the girls name with Andy and Swag. The logo was changed to 2d at that point too.

I remember before this CiTV having a refresh and everything was metal and neon lighting but this was dropped shortly after.

Did they leave at Christmas? I have memories of them having a Christmas sing-a-long at the end of the day, from around that time. Might just be a separate thing though.

Yeah I think they had that for about a year around 2002/2003. I always remember that because of the rubbish idents they introduced, which was a new animation but kept the same soundtrack from the previous 'rollercoaster' ident (also known as the spider ident, used at weekends and later at the end of weekdays) with the same sound effects so didn't match up at all.

Yeah, they did leave at Christmas with a song, but Andy and the others didn't get any mention. I do wonder what happened to Swag, as at least Scally from the Stonewall era I think is on show at a museum somewhere.

They did, yes. Michael moved on to the Ministry of Mayhem.

I think what Dave is on about isn't the refresh they had the year before, it's about when it was like this:

As you can see, there's a more 2D style of graphics on the 'coming up' bumpers and the tune has been slightly altered.

There was also that rubbish replacement if Jamie and Anna were on holiday- Action Stations. All it really was just the voices of them as robots introducing all the cartoons- no games or teams or gunge.
This wasn't a holiday replacement, it was what they aired on weekdays on the CITV Channel. They used guest presenters when someone was on holiday.

I mean you mean "what Dave is referring to", as opposed to "what Dave is on about". Hyacinth rolls her eyes at you. Wink

But anyway, your video link doesn't work but I presume you mean this sort of presentation from 2002.

Ah I'd forgotten about those idents! The idents I'm talking about were used right after the dark blue recoloured late 2001 idents. Must have been only used for a short time then.

No, there was another small refresh in April, where they still had the bouncing letters, but a slightly different tune and 2D Coming Up bumpers. It's on YouTube somewhere, I'm certain.

That's the set yeah, but the idents have already been changed there. I think when they first had the set refreshed to that the idents were kids in parks etc and it was the "Be Part Of It" era?

Odd that I still remember that address and the 09011 10 50 10 number Smile I liked Swag to be fair, thought he was cool at the time.
