I know CITV went to ITV2 on the day of 9/11. But I'm 60% sure it did switch back to ITV1 towards the end of CITV. I'm sure I remember seeing Art Attack that day. We only had terrestrial TV at that time as we'd just moved house and literally had just a small TV and an indoor aireal so couldn't watch ITV 2. I could be horribly wrong, I was only a child and my memory could be playing tricks on me.

The schedule was cleared on ITV1 that afternoon (ITV made the decision to scrap the afternoon's programming at about 2:15pm) and I believe the coverage ran until at least 6pm. CITV was aired on ITV2 at that point but with regards to Art Attack, the 2001 series (series 14) didn't start until November 2001. So Wikipedia says, but there may have been a repeat.

I probably imagined it then! 14 years on, your memory can play tricks on you.

Here is the listings for 11 September 2001

2.05 Cross Roads
2.35 Catcphrase R
3.05 ITN news
3.10 regional news
3.20 Mopatop shop
3.30 Teddy bears
3.40 Card captors ( very surprirsed this come on before Zzzap)
4.05 Zzzap
4.30 Star Street
4.50 Chums
5.05 People Verus
5.30 crossroads

Im use ITN coverage ran until at least 7pm, with shorter local news slotted in. I think emmerdale was broadcast but the bill at 9pm wasn't. That us going right off topic.

ITV went to news at the end of Part 1 of Crossroads. CITV, People Versus and the evening repeat of Crossroads were all shown on ITV2.

I remember Cardcaptors and Zzzap! being on together everyday for about 3 weeks. I was quite fond of Cardcaptors at the time. Zzzap ended it's 8 year run on CITV 10 days later. Probably for the best as the final series was terrible.

A show suffixed Attack wouldn't have been the most appropriate choice either.

Two months and a day later, CITV was at least partially interrupted by ITV News again due to a plane crash in New York - remember it as I had recorded Sooty but ended up with ITV News. Maybe it's that day that can be recalled? At the time there was concern it was another terrorist attack but thankfully it wasn't

That moved to ITV 2 as well. And yes that is probably the day that Art Attack came back on ITV 1- I seem to recall it being part of the schedule along with it.
