If its mistake, it seems to be across alot of papers. It just strange there have a one off programme in that slot, and then the following week its a new show.
There is nothing in the papers about why CITV pulled He-Man. I do remember there was alot of trouble over it.
Apart from regions occasionally opting out of links, the CITV schedule was pretty much common to all regions from day one.
This example does surprise me.
I can't see any reason why half the network would opt out. I think it is just a listings error. He Man definitely appeared in that slot in late 1983.
This is an interesting find. The big question is whether the opt-out appeared on air or did it only appear on paper?
How did the rights and royalties work with bought-in programmes for CITV? Did CITV organise all the paperwork and pay the royalties or did individual ITV companies have to go through it all?
There isn't a strong geographic or logical divide between which regions got He-Man and which regions got Spiderwoman and the Pyramids of Terror. Channel shows He-Man which was fed from TVS also showing He-Man.
Presumably there was a late-ish change? He-Man was pulled but not all regions updated their listings in time? If anyone has copies of the TVTimes, it would be interesting to see if He-Man was listed for all regions.
On a related point, do news papers get send the Regional Variations info separately or do they have to go through and check which programmes differs from London (or wherever)?
