Well I taped the end of the early CITV this morning to see what they did. Firstly the credits of Mopatop's Shop were squashed and a trailer for 'Art Attack Christmas Special - Monday at 3.50' was run and the end sting said 'Three Days to go'. Then at 5.55am the continuity announcer said "Now on ITV1 the Early Morning News its Five Thirty'. Wrong on all three counts!
Good to see Leah and Michael together this week, and Swag is funny with his fake answering machine messages!. It turns out it was a christmas special of Star today. The CITV christmas presentation is funny in that all the trailers, idents and stings all start with that whispery 'christmas is magic' business so at first glance you can't tell the start of a trailer from the preceeding sting and it looks like they are running the same sting twice
The Busted Christmas Special was interesting, it was a Blaze production and looked as if it had been filmed immediately after them appearing on SM:TV / CD:UK.
I don't suppose I am in their target audience, but it was ok, they're not the best at acting really. As a bonus it featured Brian Capron (Tricky Dicky from Corrie) & Pete Waterman.

I assume it was like that programme a few years ago when Cat Deeley went with Westlife on their tour with the guys as I think that was made by the same people. Though I assume that anything to do with music on CiTV and it has to be made in London has something to do with Blaze, considering they're the only people who make music programmes for ITV.
Oh was it a christmas special of star? I missed that. Too busy with shopping. Yesturday's art attack christmas special was good, and different to the rest of the series too. It was a nice change, and a lovely addition of the bells over the theme music.
I saw the busted christmas special, quite good, though they could be better actors. They're no S Club when it comes to TV shows. Who was Pete Waterman supposed to be? I thought when they saw him on the phone at the end that he was Santa, but surely they would have added a beard to disguise the fact that it was pete waterman. Wouldn't they?
What have we tomorrow then? Sabrina, Kipper and Wind in the Willows? Anything else, or less? I wonder if Santa Claus Brothers will be CiTV branded. Are papers and mags classing it as a film? I saw it on Disney last year, and its an computer animated film (if its the same one), and is a very good watch. If i've finished i'll be watching.
Have they still got Kings & Queens on though? This would have been a lovely programme for any other time of the year, it is very well made, but I don't want to see this at christmas. BBC One have the right approach filling morning and afternoon with family films.
At the moment, both CBBC & CITV are broadcasting TV Movies- cropped to 14:9. Do these people have the sense they were born with? Seems not. The sooner this aspect ratio crap is sorted, the better. Personally I think the producers & directors of these programmes/TV movies should be speaking out against cropping their hard work. It's the only way anything will be done, they won't listen to viewers.
CITV just ended with all the crew singing along. Leah announced she is leaving and Michael said he's moving to Saturday mornings. So where does that leave CITV ? Are they going back to not having presenters ?
I realised that in all likelyhood Michael would be leaving to present saturday mornings but Leah going as well! CITV was beginning to turn itself around too, which makes the whole thing even stranger.
I wonder who the new presenters will be? New faces, old faces?
A very sincere 'end' to CiTV there. Nicely done - even with Swag in the background! Seems a shame, just when a decent partnership is forming, it gets broken apart. Seems to pave the way for out of vision continuity to come back in (although would be a little strange considering the set is relatively new).
So Leah is going to "pastures new" (or fired as Michael said ) and like those that trod the path before her, she will never be seen again no doubt...
It will be a shame to see the two go. I wonder if Lan Jam will ever return, with Leah presenting. It is a bit strange for Leah to leave, though perhaps she doesn't want to carry on without Michael. I now hope that the ministry will be successful, else they have split up a perfect partnership for nothing.
It will be interesting to see who they bring in, if anybody. Will they be totally new, like Tim was last year, or will they be from somewhere else, perhaps some people of CiTV shows, like Kate & Ana who guests presented in the summer.
Another note to make. Bernard's Watch is returning with a new bernard. Will be interesting to see what they do with it.

New Bernard, eh? Suppose the previous kid just grew up.
Although looking at http://www.citv.co.uk/microsite/bernardswatch/ he does look a bit old for the programme considering its target audience but having said that he has been in it since it started a good five years or so ago...
