- Well a solution would be for a scottish and grampian version to be made, or following SMG practice one with four blue boxes on but no name. Scottish could then run this and opt in before the Toybox thing.

-Also, what do people think of these new "Just for the fun of it" CITV trailers with these funny kids?.

- MPAA, That was the last new one now wasn't it. Next week its viewers vote and then the week after, as predicted its a repeat of the christmas episodes!

- Finally, Art Attack, do kids actually go to all the bother of making half the stuff that Neil makes on the show. Some of the items seem so complex and probably wouldn't turn out anywhere near as good as the ones on the show!

Yes but they shouldn't have to do that, though should they? Although it doesn't surprise me since Carlton runs CiTV from Birmingham that they've now shoved an ITV1 logo on the startup ident to try and get it into Scotland and Ireland Rolling Eyes One of these days they'll catch them out, run a trailer first THEN the ident.

Reminds me of the 'Be Part Of It' trailer set a couple of years back, only with different kids. Surprised they didn't dub it "Brat Power" or something equally naff Very Happy

So there isn't a Christmas one in Series 5 then?

That Harry Potter spellbinder book type thing on yesterday's show was very complicated indeed. For anybody who missed it: http://www.hitentertainment.com/artattack/spellbinder.html - I do wonder who's going to go through that when it's quicker to just paint the folders.

They do some cool stuff on the show though (I like this one: http://www.hitentertainment.com/artattack/grandchildclock.html Smile)

Not suprised reading that article that they are comign back (I'd be more suprised if they weren't after all the trailers for the last ever Challenge Ant last week). I'm definatly going to be taping the last one as well (partly becuase I'm going on Holiday that day and would miss most of it otherwise).

Try watching That's So Raven then- that is incredibly tightly shot. That can look absolutly terrible at times.

After reading this I decided to have a look at That's So Raven and couldn't aggree more. The show is indeed very tightly shot, when cropped to 14:9 the end result is terrible. It's obvious that the people who come up with the policies never actually look at the end results.

Only a few years ago cropping full programmes would have been considered technically unacceptable, it shows how standards have fallen. There are much better options for showing 4:3 in a 16:9 frame, and still avoiding the analogue "floating picture" that is given as the main reason for cropping in the first place. The best ones I can think of are squashing to 14:9 rather that cropping. Virtually unnoticable and no picture is lost or they could crop to 13:9 rather than 14:9- only half as much picture would be lost, and the overscan on most TVs would mean analogue viewers wouldn't see the side bars.

What I don't like though is how much cd:uk is dominated by pre released performances. The artists use it to plug their songs rather than perform for the chart. Most probably why they dropped the numbers on graphics.

What they could do is to try and let artists use hotshots in a main slot to plug their songs, and therefore appear on cd:uk the week that they enter the charts. I wonder why they don't book artists to appear the week that they release their songs.

And I'd also try and get more people to sing live on cd:uk. TOTP pushes them a bit, and artists like westlife and girls aloud can perform live, but they don't. And then they fall into a routine of just miming.

The set and graphics could do with a make over, perhaps going back to the original look of a set that fits together, rather than stages on black. Bring back the old theme with the 'count down uk' in the title, or a remixed version with it in, and focus more on the charts.

I think who whole CD:UK thing could do with a big makeover, taking it back to how it used to be when it started. The set does especially need doing up, it used to have a very well done set, bright and vibrant but now it's all black. The set also shrunk when they moved to Riverside (it affected SM:TV too though, as Eat My Goal moved outside), though hopefully when SM:TV moves out(Crying or Very sad), they'll be able to make use of their space and could be an excuse to redecorate.

Well Brian Dowling likes to be centre of attention. I'm sure he'll feel a bit pushed out if he's also on the last show with Ant and Dec. Remember that one when Ant and Dec were guests and ended up getting all the biggest laughs and most of the show was made to revolve around them

I think we're all expecting the final show to revolve around Ant & Dec anyway. How can it do anything else? No non-Ant & Dec sketches are ever voted on SM:TV Gold (no matter how much they tried to push the S Club 8 Vicar of Dribbley, it was up for he vote a couple of times, but only came on because S Club 8 picked it). I wonder what will happen in the last ever Chums (lets hope it happens). I also hope they extend the final show as well to run to either 12:30 or 1PM. The more we get of it, the better. I hope they do Wonkey Donkey as well, it was funny the way they used to shout at everyone for making stupid gesses, and they had that silly little horn that Ant (IIRC) used to mess around with.

Nice to see Michael and Leah back today, even though it is thursday.

When they cut the credits for a studio link they don't squash them up as much, bit when it is a trailer they squash it up more!

I hope they do wonkey donkey as well, it was hillarious.

However I've heard on the grapevine that the show is being taped this coming monday as its the only free day ant and dec have, so it could be out of the question Sad

However I think they will be doing a last ever chums - I think above all its the thing everone wants. Although (as ive said before) they never resolved the last one before James came in - when Cat and Louise heard him doing something to his girlfriend next door.

I'd hope not. It will be a shame if that is the case. I hope they do turn up live on the day.
