I'm guessing 9.25 - 12.00.

They must have extended the timeslot for something!

In the early xmas guides both the pre christmas and last show are in the usual 9:25-11:30 slot. Though they dont really need cd:uk as there's no chart, everyone does the yearly round up then, so they dont need it. They may decide to extend it, which would be a good send off.

It was interesting having SM:tv Gold on for an extra half an hour, and they could have used the time better than running another chums. Not that chums is bad, its just that they could have shownt a different sketch.

Well I thoroughly enjoyed this morning's SM:TV Gold and all of it was top class! Westlife entered into the original spirit of things and it was unbeleivalbe to see how many times they had appeared on the show and with how many bad haircuts!

YAY for SM:TV Gold

Do you think it would be a good idea to have on the 27th decemeber, Ant, Dec & Cat back with the old set, graphics, music and features, as a normal show would have been before they left. So there isn't a fuss about them returning, or no who ha about it being the last show until the end.

SO they come on with a song (they were always the best openings), menu, chat and contact us (with a massive amount of guests like on ant & dec's last show), performance, pokerap, pokemon, postbag, pokemon, secret of my success/dec says, challenge ant, sabrina, splatoon, sabrina, chums, etc.

Do you think that would work? I hope they do come back for the whole show, not just for challenge ant. It would be that much of a problem for them.

I enjoyed today's SM:tv gold too. Just out of interest, was that a different version of the chums opening credits they played in the backround on the advert for the second episode this morning?

But then it would be all old music, which I don't think kids will want to watch. It would be a waste of time and lose ratings.

It wouldn't have to be on ITV Kids, another channel could show it, and they probabally could find some timeslot on ITV Kids where it could be shown if they tried.

That would be a good idea. I wouldn't be supried to see that Ant, Dec & Cat are presenting the whole show either. I would also like to see the old set & titles, and I wouldn't be suprised to see that happen either. The old set it probabally in storage somewhere, they could probabally dig it out and set it up. One thing they should also do is have ITV2 repeat the very first SM:TV right after ITV have shown the last one- some nostalgia for us who have been watching since the start.

PS- On the CiTV pinboards it says on one of the recent threads that Funhouse isn't coming back!! Is that right?

If by Funhouse, you mean the show fronted by Pat Sharp for what seemed like decades, then it hasn't been shown for at least three years so by that I presume it won't be coming back at all, unless it's picked up again by ITV Kids to pad out what looks like being a very dull schedule.

they will now gain extra time by having the angry beavers back on instead of the flinstones

They're bringing the Angry beavers back? Huzzah! I love the show! Yet another connection for me to SM:TV- anyon remember the "Beaver Lever"? Not hugely excting really. You know the structure in the SM:TV studio? These days it's only really where the audience stand, but in the early days Ant, Dec & Cat used to do some presenting up there as well (I believe CD:UK still do links from up there, but in the early days they did a lot more). In the middle up the structure was some control unit (or something odd like that) and one of the things on it was a furry lever- the "beaver lever" which they used to pull at the start of The Angry Beavers. Though they got rid of that control until thing after a couple of months, not sure why though. Not hugely intersting, but it's one of my memories from the early days of SM:TV that SM:TV Gold don't even seem to want to touch.

Also, can anyone remember the pre-title sequence they used to have at the very beginning? It was like a split-screen think which showed Ant, Dec and Cat getting ready, then at the very end it showed Ant waking up in some odd place and screaming (it was different every week- I remember one week was a roof, another was the middle of the field). They stopped using it after a few weeks though, the same week the theme tune changed (orignally SM:TV and CD:UK had the same theme music, the only difference was SM:TVs said "Wake up, It's Saturday", whereas CD:UK's said "Countdown UK, Countdown UK").

Notice on today's SM:TV they had one of the votes based around an opening sketch, just like we'd requested on here, although the wheeliebin sketch was quite short!. Captain Justice was hilarious as ever, and SM:TV 2099 was quite a funny one. I wonder if Kirsty will make an appearance on the last show!.

They also heavilly trailed the final Challenge Ant throughout the entire show

Talking about CITV for a moment....

The presentation around Seriously Weird started with an ITV1 ident with an announcement which ended with "...Record of the Year, tonight at 5.40 on ITV1" this went straight into CITV DOGed pres and a trailer for MPAA. There was then a quick CITV sting.

At the end the credits were squashed to allow a 'Mondays' trailer which went full screen before the credits had ended. After this there was one of those new CITV 'Just for the fun of it' trailers and then straight into an ITV1 breakbumper. So notice no start or end CITV idents on this occasion

I never liked that Beaver thing Ant and Dec did, it was OTT and a bit cringeworthy IMO, though if you have 'It shouldn't happen to a kids TV presenter' on video they show some behind the scenes of that. But one of my favourites in the early days was those poems Dec did about Sabrina The Teenage Witch were very funny, but I remember for the last one they did they sent Dec to the USA to meet Melissa Joan Hart, I think it was the SM:tv from Janaury 1 2000, when they were all in bed.
