It depends how they market the new show, and publisise the last SM:tv.

For example, the show will get more ratings if they advertise it something like; "this saturday morning, the last ever sm:tv goes live, and three people are back to send it off in style! Ant, Dec & Cat are back for one last ultimate send off, this Saturday 9.25 itv1", the itv1 part so that they can advertise it well through the whole schedule.

If ant & dec do come back, I'd like it if they ripped of those worm shaped things and re paint, or add the old tinselly christmas topping to them for the last show.

If you go to the SM:tv website, and click on this weeks show it says this:

"As you know SM:TV always gives you the best prizes! This Saturday is no exception - if you play EAT MY GOAL this weekend - you'll stand the chance of winning a QUAD BIKE. How cool is that? PLUS We're looking for one lucky boy or girl who reckons they've got what it takes to CHALLENGE ANT for the last time ever. Make sure you tune in to SM:tv GOLD this Saturday to find out how you could be the luckiest kid in Britain and get to play Challenge Ant with Ant & Dec on the last SM:tv ever on December 27th. Don't Miss It! "

and this:
"SM:tv Gold is on at 9.25am on CiTV this Saturday, and it is the best of the best highlights from the last 5 years of SM:tv Live! Each week we'll be giving you the chance to see what you want to see on Saturday mornings! You'll be able to vote for your all-time favourite SM:tv Live sketches featuring ANT, DEC, CAT, TESS, BRIAN, JAMES, H & CLAIRE and a whole host of other stars too! And each week we'll also be showing a classic episode of CHUMS in full too!! "

looks like ant and dec are coming back for the final episode after all, or has this already been mentioned on the last previous pages?!

Yeah, they should definatly go back to the old set. I'd also like to see the christmas titles on the last show (perhaps the last gold, as the last live could have the original un-edited titles).

Hopefully they'll do a last-ever chums as well. They never resolved the last one, where James Redmond had supposedly shot his girlfriend next door. I think this was to get him ready for his perminant presenting job, but when that came around they never brough Chums back, which in a way is good.

Anyway, I'm getting a bit ahead of myself!

I think it was wrong of them to continue chums after the wedding, as I didn't like how they had to write ant & dec out & leaving. It would have been better with them kissing, and then fading through the post wedding photos (previously created), as if going through their photo album, with it closing with the chums logo and the words 'The End' on the front.

Perhaps they could do a catchup episode seeing what did happen with the relationship. It would be nice if the penultimate show was a christmas special SM:tv Live, digging out the christmas titles, and with a send off to Stephen (as surely he wont be on the last SM:tv and the dirst new show, unless he's named Lorraine Kelly!).

From what I've heard sof ar, I can't see this "ministry of mayhem" having anywhere near the popularity or longevity of SM:TV. I wouldn't be surpised to see ITV revert to the SM:TV format (or even bring SM:TV back!).

How do you know what it's going to be called teenage-monkey? Are you sure that's really what it's name is gonna be?

Isn't the show inbetween Christmas and new year usually a pre-record anyway - the previous 2 years it's been the "sm:tv awards". However, I do hope the last ever SM:tv live will be live. Thats presuming it is 'Live' instead of 'gold'

Yeah, there's a good chance that the last show will be prerecorded.

Why ? On the basis of the name ? Well there goes a reasoned argument.

In case anyone is intersted, UK Gold are showing the last seires os 2Point4 Children, whichs tars Alex Kew- AKA Josh from MPAA. It's quite funny watching it as he looks & sounds totally different from what he did in MPAA.

I'm glad he's changed and has got better acting skills, as if you watch him on 2point4children, and early MPAA, he does this wierd eye movement every so often looking at the cameras, unless he couldnt remember lines and had idiot boards or an autocue by the cameras. He seems to have got over that now though.

What I dont understand is how, why and what were they thinking when at the end of the penultamet series, when Declan first came in after being part of a theiving gang as a scruffy weedy boy who looked like Oliver Twist, compared to Alex Kew who was supposed to bet the same boy in the next series.

I checked this out today to refresh my memory at that character Alex Kew played. I think he's fairly similar to the early series of MPAA.

When were these episodes of 2.4 made, and when was the first series of MPAA made, anyone know?.

I wonder if Alex knows his series is on at the moment, I'll have to pop along to the star studded MPAA forum at itv.com/citv to see if they've mentioned it.

(Yesterday's episode of MPAA was very funny by the way!)
