I wonder whether the success of chums on sm:tv would carry over to a prime time show. With the same writers, same cheap set. It was really in a league of its own, and was the longest sketch in sm:tv history.

If they did get ant, dec & cat to do it, would you watch?

Or would it only spoil it?

Would they still need the guests?

Well Ant and Dec pretty much ran the whole SM:tv format on their 'Slap Bang' show which was a flop.

I see on the Virgin site that Ant and Dec have released a "Best of Saturday Night Takeaway" video which is out today. Surely, that sort of stuff should be kept in the archives rather than trying to milk money out of any Ant and Dec fans out there. I like their show but why stretch a video out of it?
Its already on my xmas list Laughing lol!! I see what youre sayin and I agree to sum extent, I think they should have waited till after a third serise but hey im not complainin - Dec on video YUM !!!!!!!! Does anyone know if there definately is a third serise ?

Yes there will be a third series of takeaway next year. And they are currently developing a pilot for the US. They will film the US version in the UK, but will have an american audience. Uf that goes down well, they will be going over to try and break the US.

But they are still under an itv contract. And itv will be getting the most out of them, with their contract ending next year.

With Saturday Night Takeaway being a granada production, if ant & dec go to the BBC, then they can't take it with them, can they?

They never tried chums on slap bang. They tried beers. Which was ok. I actually liked slap bang, but the problem was that it was and it wasn't sm:tv at night. It was sm:tv for the type of things they were doing, but I think people would have watched it if it was actually SM:tv, or SN:tv. With the same charcaters and sketches.

There's no harm in them trying the chums format in a primetime special.

It would be could if ant & dec wanted to go into acting, asking them to develop a comedy series.

I wonder whether they would want to do a sketch show type thing. After all, most of their presenting career has included them (minue friends like these), even pop idol has them!

Moving on. CiTV. Leah on a three day stint. Most probably as she's had three weeks off. I hope Michael is back for the friday show. Though now they have fingertips taking it to four shows, it won't be as much.

Have CiTV nearly run out of their eps of the Flinstones? From monday, All Grown up is going to a monday double bill (it has been advertised). SO that means (if SM:tv continue to show it), we will have four episodes of All Grown Up, that have all been on before! Is this right?

Perhaps they could get rid of all grown up on a friday, and turn fridays into a live entertainment show, with a special thing. a bit like nick's Thank Nick It's Friday.

With live guests, perhaps bands performing, and an audience. It would be a good show to end the week with. Either that or show sabrina instead of all grown up!

So they've changed Monday's schedule just as they've started producing those trailers that are based around one day's programming. The Monday one featured Flintstones, All Grown Up and Aliens.

Friday's doesn't seem to have much time anymore, there seems to be more time on Thursdays, I bet Leah will appear on her own. Notice they seem to be doing the thing where they link in and out of the middle ads all the time lately

Nick made a stupid mistake there with All Grown Up.

CiTV must have paid a lot of money, and i mean a lot for them to show it so many times a week.

Digiguide says that it goes twice a week from the 24th. And still has the flinstones on for monday.

Perhaps they have finshed new episodes, and as part of the deal CiTV get first airings of them.

If they are the same episodes again, and again, it won't be doing CiTV any good surely.

I believe there are only 13 episodes of All Grown Up.

Why do all the stars desert us. if they break the U.S.A they will probably go and live there like everyone else Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Is the U.S.A show being made by ITV ? because I thought Ant and Dec had just signed a £850,000 deal to stay with ITV ? Im confused! Scratch Head

Do you even bother to read the info posted on this thread? I'm sure the details are somewhere.

They are currently involved in a golden handcuffs deal with itv, worth more than the sum posted, isn't it £3million for the duo, so £1.5million each for three years.

As the show will be broadcast in america, the contract doesn't stand. It's the fact that they can only broadcast for itv and on itv in the UK.

I believe that Granada that make Saturday Night Takeaway are to make the US pilot.
