I hate presenters that do that. His real name is Paul Ballard; yet on the end credits it always said Paul 'Des' Ballard; so why do they call him Des?

Carried over from Disney club, I can't quite remember but i think they all used to use names that weren't their own back then.

Oh right! Like Reggie Yates; now of Smile; was called Robbie on the show.

I think the only person to get her own name used on the Disney Club was Fearne Cotton as she was introduced in the last series of it when viewers had to vote for a new female presenter.

Fearne was chosen, the next year Des & Fearne went onto DiGGiT in February of 1998; they were the main hosts and they were in the titles (which were ace and involved the running towards DiGGiT tower * ) yet the first face to be seen on DiGGiT was Gail Porter as she was bought in as Des & Fearne hadnt done Live TV before; so she ran into the studio pointed out the time (just before 7:10) and they were Live with phones ins and the classic game Give a Dog a Home!

Stephen Mulhern has been very good on SM:tv. I hope he stays on, and then when Dick and Dom come to the BBC, SM:tv's ratings should rise extremely high. Let's hope they can keep them there.

I woudln't be so sure on that one. I think it's an interesting idea to put Bungalow on BBC ONE - since it's got no celebs, infact they even shout and tell them to sod off when they actually do appear at "the door".

It sounds like something ITV would try to do, and fail at, and going by the success of it on CBBC channel, it could do rather well, as long as when the patronising Fearne Cotton isn't on where she has to improvise as much as she did on TSS.

I'm not sure how this will work on BBC1. What about when there are bandwagons to jump on, such as the winner of Fame Acadamy or Pop Idol, at the moment people like this seem to appear every other week on each channel, and kids must like endless apperances by Blazin' Squad etc

As of tomorrow on SM:tv live; only ONE edition of Sabrina and in the other spot 'THAT'S SO RAVEN'.

Its a Disney Channel programme that's made in America but was shown in the UK to test the audience before they put it out in America and the rest of the world.

Its also been on Diggin' it. For those that have not seen it; it stars Raven Symmone who played the little kid (cant remeber her name; but not ruby) in the later series of the cosby show. She also played the daughter of dr doliitle in dr dolittle & dr dolittle 2.

Basically she is a pychic and sees visions of the future; but usually something goes wrong. Quite good, funny and well produced.

I thought today's show was quite good what with the Sick Tricks and the Cheeky Girls.

So now we are moving into presenting partnership No.?? can we compile a list of all permanent partnerships so far, as I've forgotten who came and went in what order!

I'll start, with the easy one:

1) Ant, Dec and Cat
2) .......

I'll fill in what I know (trying to remember who appeared on the 'Casually' titles!)...

1) Ant, Dec, Cat
2) Random combinations for a while, Cat
3) James, Tess, Cat
4) Tess, Brian, Cat
5) H, Claire, Tess, Brian
6) Tess, Brian
7) Tess, Brian, Des, Shiv

Probably a few mistakes...

Permanent presenting line ups are:

1) ant mc partlin, declan donnaley & cat deeley
2) james redmond, tess daley, brian dowling & cat deeley
3) brian dowling, tess daley and cat deeley
4) brian dowling & tess daley (with guest presenters)
5) brian dowling, tess daley, claire richards & ian 'H' watkins
6) brian dowling & tess daley (with various presenters; and jonathan wilkes doing a few weeks on their too)
7) brian dowling & tess daley alone
Cool brian dowling, tess daley, des clarke & shavaughan rukare
9) tess daley, des clarke & shavaughan rukare
10) stephen mulhern, tess daley, des clarke & shavaughan rukare (is shavuaghan on holiday, or just been sacked? tho i think shes on holiday!)

I liked todays show; i feel that its getting back on form; we just need a few more sketches and the return of phone in games! PLEASE!

BTW. My earlier post was incorrect; i was going by what they announced on CiTV on friday; That's So Raven will start NEXT SATURDAY!

I quite like the partnership of the three of them, Stephen, Des & Tess. Des & Stephen are getting on well; and stephens also getting on well with tess; and introducing more manic moments with the sick trick show and when he just came on with the rat to tess' face and into the audience (i felt sorry for the boy at the start of the sick trick show; he just stood there wet! oh well; thats showbiz!)

You can tell that Stephen hasnt been given a permanent roll as yet as he doesnt have his own clipboard yet! Im not too keen on the new clipboards; bring back the old ones that were just silver with the cue card stuck on; why do we need there names everywhere; we hardly ever see the clipboard and we know their names already! Though there is usually a spare for guest presenters!

!

Just look how many people Tess has presented with throughout the years!

Yes I thought Brian and James were on at the same time as they did both SMTV 2099 and the original version of Casually together.

Did number 9 take place, I can't remember, was that that week when Stephen Mulhern was kind of a guest rather than a presenter?
FA

Oh yeah; number 9 took place.

They had two weeks; stephen then guested on their first as three; then started to guest present two weeks later; which he has been doing for three weeks now. Or is it four?

What does everyone think of des, tess & stephen; it doesnt roll off the tongue; infact des tess and shavaughan sounds better!

Has Shavaughan gone on holiday? She was really good with the sketches, good presenter; and was getting used to butting in with her own random comments; lets hope that she and all of them will have more freedom in the actual show.

Perhaps they should do like LIVE & KICKING 2000 did when they first had four presenters; and create a game or something for Shavaughan to do throughout the show and use her in sketches and quiz things too; and have stephen, des & tess on a NEW sofa! I felt sorry for tess sitting on the corner bit today!

This might sound a bit stupid i.e. SMTV being a childrens programme, but i think to improve SMTV or even make a new show sucessful they need to make it more tongue'n'cheek and make it appeal to adults like it did in the days of Ant, Dec and Cat. I think this is where the current morning shows are failing to gain the popularity that SMTV once had. Perhaps new hosts such as Dermot O'Leary and people who are not afraid to make a fool of themselves (anyone see BBLB-Dernot doing yoga/dancing etc).
FA

I said earlier (i think it was this thread; possibly another) about Dermot being a host; the only ppl that could make it a success are the two that have worked together before; get on well; laugh like wild animals and would do anything just as they did on the bigger breakfast; they being Josie D'Arby and Dermot O'Leery; y these two aint done saturday mornings before (bar Dermots show with Cat & Louise the Saturday before Christmas 2001) is beyond me.

Though as someone pointed out; Josie went to acting as she wanted to (a terrible move for fans) and Dermot is doing more adult tv; though I personally couldnt see either of them turning it down.

Perhaps Dermot now bblb is over should fill in for Cat whilst shes doing fame academy on cd:uk and link the shows by guest presenting with tess & stephen (who he used to share a house with) and see how he goes; if he wanted to of course!
