Well I think it is supposed to be timeless and the characters are supposed to be around the same age as they were in series 1.

Talking about the website I notice they've got some fairly funny outtakes on there with Josh falling over and stuff, also the credits in flash feature all the characters that we will be seeing in Series 5 including Poppy Manning who wasn't in today's!. I wonder if Andy the Freak will be in this series?!

Its a pitty the cast arn't going on SM:TV again to advertise the new series, although there's no sketches for them to take part in if they did

Do they really need to though, it's not as if nobody who SM:TV is aimed at has never heard of MPAA, considering the number of trailers I've seen for it in the last week alone...

I dont think they can keep them as timeless can they? How do they explain Lucy growing breasts whilst being at primary school? Josh's changes. I think his nose has grown too!

The top row are series one, the bottom series 5:

It was interesting on the new site some questions and answers. Like there are 52 eps in all (including series 5), this series contains 13 eps, which means the last ep of this series will air on december 13th, unless in the last couple of weeks they go to mondays or wednesdays only and show sabrina or something on the other day to take it to christmas. I wonder if there is a christmas special this year. I only remember the first christmas (two parter).

And each episode takes a week to film! Two days rehersal, the rest filming. Then its edited, packaged and past on to CiTV.

Lucy isn't at primary school, she's at the same school as her siblings. You often see them all crossing over. Like I said before, they're going to have to age somebody dramatically at some point if only to keep it realistic looking. I would argue sixth form for Mel, Year 11 for Josh and either Year 8 or Year 9 for Lucy as things stand.

Something should give next year on this front I would have thought, can't keep this up for much longer, surely?

I thought Lucy was, so therefore they have moved it on, as they used to where different uniforms to the juniors. Perhaps they should've kept howie or a younger person for him and a group of younger kids experiencing living with aliens, as the rest grow up. SO that when the older guys do decide to leave, there will be others to easily fit in. Perhaps they are progressing. You never see any of mels classes, and on the last series, there was something about the year 11 common room when josh was being elected, or was this series 3?

Probably as there only seems to be two teachers, Mr Whiteside and the woman Mrs thingy

They do go to the same school as there was that episode where Whiteside took Lucy's class and on hearing the name Barker thought she was a troublemaker just like her brother.

Talking about the Xmas episode, I've never seen that one as it wasn't repeated in this year's run, so maybe they could show it again this year.

And looking at those pictures, look how much Josh has changed, he only looks about 9 in the top one!.

Talking about the website, notice the typical 'Granada Kids' confusion. Question: Where is MPAA filmed? Answer: It's filmed at Yorkshire Television in Leeds (and they must have been filling a studio for 13 weeks by all accounts, what with Countdown as well in the other studio they will have been busy), Question: How can I get autographs, Answer: Write to Meridian Broadcating, Southampton!! I wonder why Meridian get involved!

Um... So you write all the way down south to Southampton just so Meridian send it all the way up to Leeds? Why not just send it to Leeds direct? Rolling Eyes

Perhaps they are planning to save it for christmas then. Either on monday 8th and 13th or when CiTV goes to the mornings on monday 22nd. Why do daytime itv shows finish the friday before christmas, and not like go up until the 23rd, if there is space in the week?

LOL so that's what Meridian use the studios in Southampton these days, storing autographs and It'll Be Alright on the Night.

Perhaps they are spreading it, and are going to create certain services for each region. Like each will deal with their news service, but Meridian would deal with autographs, and correspondants, Birmingham would be in control of Childrens, etc.

That's something. Granada's kids armis currently Granada Kids, but with the merger, wouldnt this be called itv kids? The proposed name of the childrens itv service?

Let's just have a summary of what slots CITV have got over the next few weeks just so everyone knows:

Saturday 25th October its SM:TV Gold at 2.20pm and CD:UK at 3.20pm. GMTV Kids is as normal 6.00-9.25am

Sunday 26th October there's a special early CITV at 6am for an hour with young kids shows like Boohbah, Engie Benjy and Meg and Mog. There's no GMTV today. There's also a bit of a kids strand in the afternoon with a cartoon at 3.35pm and 5.15pm and in between kids movie Space Jam.

Monday 27th October to Friday 31st October sees special half term programmes with GMTV Kids from 8.05am and an hour of CITV from 9.25am featuring not as originally billed, Star and Seriously Weird. During afternoons, Meg and Mog replaces Tiny Planets all week at 3.15pm and there's an episode of That's So Raven at 4.30pm on Thursday. Fingertips presented by Stephen Mulhern makes an appearance on the Friday

Saturday 1st November sees GMTV Kids as normal, a longer than usual CD:UK at 12.45pm and a standard length, and therefore no doubt fully live edition of SM:TV Gold from 2.00-4.05pm

Sunday 2nd November includes GMTV as normal and CITV for half an hour at 3.55pm featuring an edition of 'All Grown Up'
