Im sure the desk used was the top part of the set that they'd brought down.

Today has been great for links with Michael appearing before and after every show. He even did a 1998 thing of using the CSO to walk infront of the credits on engie bengy (something that they stopped doing when they got complaints, especially about stephen doing a magic trick over the credits to a CiTV christmas movie!).

They have still had adverts though they've cut down severly on the amount of trailers shown, which is a good thing! They've had time for name the monkey, and bag the swag, and little jokes in between. Well done CiTV!

I hope some of ther money that they will save on the merger will be given back to CiTV, as they had much taken off them, its only fair. Though at the moment the schedule is quite varied, and most of the programming is top class. Its just the odd american programme here and there now, usually 3:30!

If we now know that all grown up is shorter to give more air time, and are getting this much today, what will we get on friday where we have the usual you can do magic which gives more air time, and rugrats all grown up also gives more airtime; we may have 20 minutes worth of michael and leah in total!

Holly Willoughby from CBBC's Xchange and CBBC at The Fame Acadamy will be one of the presenters on the show that replaces SMTV.

I like Holly. shes got tons of energy. I wonder what Danielle Nicholls is doing these days ?.

She was really great on CITV, before she got overweight. She left soon after and has hardly come back.

Anybody notice the safe today behind Michael at the close of the show at 5pm? The same safe as used in the trailers before they launched this new look. A wider shot today of the studio, doesn't seem to be very much in it apart from the plasmas and the table and the safe thing (is it me or whenever they use these tellies for Bag the Swag or whatever, they're stretching a 4:3 piccie? Notice the edges of the piccie falls off the widescreen telly in the same place it falls off your telly when Swag goes full-screen.)

Yet again today's CITV was back to what we expect, with continuity links between all the shows, games ("Name the Monkey" and "Bag the Swag" with a catchy telephone number jingle) banter with the crew, and telling us who's presenting tommorow.

Will this be the first day since the relaunch to have presenters every day. Where's the extra time come from, is the CITV slot actually slightly longer (maybe due to the dropped ITV News at 3pm or the fact that Around the Houses isn't on anymore), or is it just less ads or trailers. I'm sure Globo Loco wasn't advertised today!

And this week's SM:TV...

Its SMTV 2099 v Dec Says and there's no Pokemon, but there is That's So Raven. That's at 2.20pm on Saturday afternoon, excluding UTV who arn't showing it at all. I don't think there's any Eat My Goal either, I get the feeling this week's show may be recorded?

I like holly too Very Happy

She doesnt get enough TV work in my opinion, she's only ever on smallish programs and CBBC's continuity. If she indeed is on SMTV's replacement it should do wonders for her career! (provided the show is successful)

One thing about SMTV- what happened to Tess & Shavaugn? They both seemd to dissapear without explantion, leaving the show's live segments to the (unfunny IMO) Steven & Des

Tess left the show in August or September time, a few weeks after Brian i think. She had a leaving show and everything. Shavaugn just dissappeared though, no word at all. Whether she quit or was sacked is anyones guess. I think however that if she dissappeared because bosses thought she was unfunny, boring or something like that then shouldnt Des and Steven go?

Ant, Dec and Cat should return for the final few weeks, go out on a high i think. SMTV was a major factor in their current success so they should honour it.

I think they should get them back as well. They were the main reason the show was so popular (though they weren't originally the reason I watched- I watched originally becuase they were showing Cow & Chicken as we didn't have cable at that point)

I wouldn't have thought ITV want to overshadow their new show by having Ant Dec & Cat return.

Your right, they won't bring them back and it would be nice to see them all again but they've been away for too long and i dont think they would be able to reconstitute the magic they had. They could appear as guests on the final show though, along with other presenters. I think Live and Kicking did it in 2001 so i dont see why ITV couldnt do the same with SMTV

Browneye, where did you get the information that Holly will be a presenter on the new show? Would be interesting if this was true as I havent seen her doing sketches as such, shes nice and kind, would be like a big sister to viewers and someone for the dads to look at!

She'll be returning to CiTV where her career began on S Club tv on CiTV on sunday mornings from sept 2000. All seven presenters also appeared on SM:tv for an interview with ant, dec & cat!

The safe has been there for a while Neil. They usually start the friday show infront of it. It seems as though they have tried to create areas with the new set. Its as wide, but they have the part in the middle that pokes out with two sides, and the white areas either side. Also noticed that today they had added characters and images to represent shows into those little windows instead of the CiTV logo.

I believe (as I said in my earlier post) that its the lack of trailers that is a main contributor, and the fact that there is no pre advert design wars trailer to air.

I remember Fraser when they had the former Live & kicking presenters, though they were pre recorded. Though it could be hopefull for sm:tv as Ant & Dec will have to be in the building for pop idol, as by this stage they will be from the london studios rather than teddington. Cat is in for cd:uk and so they could all at least just pop in to do a sketch here and there with stephen & des holding the show together, or they could have Cat as the last sm:tv 'friend'.

Oh, pre-recorded, whoops Embarassed . Must be all the alcohol rotting my brain Very Happy . Anyhoo, better than no past presenters at all!

From what you say there is a good chance of Ant, Dec and Cat making an apperance! Razz Excellent!

I'll be sorry to see SMTV go, it has brought me untold humor Laughing however it should have ended after Ant, Dec and Cat left - it wasnt the same without them (the Tess and Brian combination came close).

SMTV - May she rest in Peace! Sad
